Why does iOS still make it impossible to put apps into folders?

Notice the difference: dragging an app into a folder adds it to the folder, but dropping it precisely where the folder sits triggers a different action.

I think iOS is crap in many ways, but this is not possible in all versions of Andoid either, without using some custom launcher. For exampe Googles own Pixel does not allow to create folders in app drawer.

But this isn't an app drawer, it's a home screen and Pixel lets you make folders on the home screen as well. So I don't see your point.

My point was that app folders are a basic feature that should be available in desktop, but also in app drawer. Pixel has folders in desktop, but not in app drawer. iOS does not have them anywhere, but it is so limited and bizarre OS anyway that this is just a fart in the wind. 😀

The way people use phones now the app drawer doesn't get used as much as it used to. These days it's apps in the home screen or using the search bar, which is so much quicker than scrolling through an endless list. I guess there are no need for folders in the app drawer.

Depends. I like to keep my desktop as clean as possible and add only most common apps to 3-4 folders. All other apps are in app drawer, but many still grouped to folders for easy and fast accessibility. I basically never use search bar.

Tap folder with left thumb while holding the app with right thumb. Easy.

Oh, so I'm not just a moron... It took me like five minutes to folder ten apps about a week ago. I was getting so pissed off. I figured there was a trick to it I was supposed to just know.

Are you purposely struggling? All you had to do was hold it on the folder for a half second longer than you did. If you stopped sliding it all over then you could. It’s definitely a skill issue.
