💙💜💙💜1,461💜💙💜💙 That is how many days since my life has been shattered, 4 years to the day. 4 years of trauma that you want to desperately forget but no matter how much you try, your body won’t let you. 4 years of navigating a hell I never knew existed until it happened to me. 4 years of failing health and a drained bank account. 4 years of fighting to be acknowledged, accepted, researched and compensated by our government. 4 years of crying, laughing and grieving with an unconscionable amount of humans in this very same boat. We are all just a moment away from our life being marked by tragedy, turning us into a completely different person. Today, 4 years ago it happened to me. I don’t watch for it, I don’t set a calendar reminder and quite frankly would love to forget but it doesn’t work like that. My body can’t forget because that is what trauma does to you. We are so beautifully fragile that all it takes is one moment to alter who we are forever. Today is that one moment in my life.
