"Why does my vote not count the same as other people's?" Zack Polanski hits the nail on the head: everyone should have an equal voice in our democracy. In short, we need PR. That's why hundreds of people from up and down the country turned out today to help #SortTheSystem

@ZackPolanski What system do you propose that would give us an “equal” vote?

Zack Polanski3 years ago

@MakeVotesMatter Good Systems Agreement facilitated by Make Votes Matter to work out a fairer system.

Kevin Abrook3 years ago

@ZackPolanski Be careful what you wish for. I live in Ireland which has a very pure multi-seat constituency form of PR. The Green Party here have only 7% of the vote, yet 12 seats in Government. Giving them undue influence OUT OF PROPORTION to total seats available.

Kirsten Gillibrand on getting money out of politics: "When in America today, 100 billionaire families are responsible for one in every six dollars, that's an outrage. It means that they have an outsized voice in our democracy. And it means they set an agenda that doesn't respond to the needs of the American people. We need the American people's voice to be heard."

🔥Zack Polanski on Good Morning Britain perfectly describing how FPTP fails the British public. Whoever they vote for, people should be able to vote for something - not be forced into voting for a lesser evil. It’s time to scrap FPTP and give everyone an equal vote and stake in our politics.

If you are not an AMERICAN CITIZEN, you do not have the right to vote in OUR elections. If you are an American citizen you should have no problem presenting the ID you must present to rent an apartment, drive a car, buy cigarettes, board a plane, open a bank account, get a job, or pick up a prescription, in order to vote. We cannot go to Iceland, Ireland, Honduras, Chile, Slovakia, Singapore or ANY OTHER country and vote in their elections. So we raise you the question, why should citizens of other countries be allowed to vote in ours? They shouldn't. Pass the SAVE Act, and save the integrity of our democracy.

This is a great day for democracy in South Africa. Today we vote for the stability and the extension of our democracy. Today South Africa decides on the future of our country and I have no doubt that once again the people will invest their confidence and give the mandate to the African National Congress to continue to lead our country. #IamVotingANC

Avi Lewis: "I worry about our relationship to our own vote and to democracy ... we need to have a vote that's meaningful, which is why we also need proportional representation, so we don't have 36-37% of the vote giving a government absolute power."

The problem with our country today is that we have leaders who believe it's OK to lie & try to deceive the American people. Their lies have cost us dearly: countless lives, trillions of dollars & the destruction of people's faith in our democracy. This is why integrity matters.

Kamala Harris: We cannot despair. We cannot despair. The nature of a democracy is such that I think there's a duality. On the one hand, there's an incredible strength when our democracy is intact. An incredible strength in what it does to protect the freedoms and rights of its people. Oh, there's great strength in that. And it is very fragile. It is only as strong as our willingness to fight for it. And so that's the moment we're in. And I say do not despair because in a democracy, as long as we can keep it, in our democracy the people, every individual has the power to make a decision about what this will be. And so let's not feel powerless. Because then we have been defeated. And that's not our character as the American people. We are not one to be defeated. We rise to a moment and we stand on broad shoulders of people who have fought this fight before for our country. And in many ways let us look at the challenge then that we are being presented and not be overwhelmed by it. The baton is now in our hands, to fight for, not against, but for this country we love.

Randi Weingarten is screaming again... this time at a No Kings rally in Minnesota. "I know the hour is late, but this has been an amazing crowd... why do we say no kings? Because the only way the government acts for the people, listens to the people, responds to the people, solves the people's problems, is if it is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. That's why, that's why standing up and showing up, being in solidarity like millions of us are doing today is so important. It is the only way we can get the government to act in our interest, act in our kids' interest, act in working people's interest." Reminder: Randi kicked kids out of the classroom nationwide during COVID resulting in MASSIVE learning loss

Elon Musk: The people demanding vaccine passports are the same ones who say you don't need an ID to vote. “Hillary and Obama in prior speeches were hard-nosed about not letting in anyone who's a criminal into the country, having secure borders, all that stuff. So why did they change their tune? The reason is that they discovered that those people vote for them. That's why they want the open borders. Because if you let people in, they know the Democrats let them in, they'll vote for Democrats. California and New York have made it illegal to show your photo ID when voting. Effectively, they've made it impossible to prove fraud. Impossible. They've essentially legalized fraudulent voting in California and New York and many other parts of the country. The same people who are demanding that you have a vaccine passport are the same ones saying you need no ID to vote. The same people.” From: The Joe Rogan Experience, October 31, 2025
