The game articulates a very interesting setting outside of it's scope, and even makes understanding parts of the worldbuilding part of progression (IE: The Solar System Map Puzzle) However the simple answer is people just want to see Elster and Ariane fuck. The slightly more complicated answer is that people only care about what's in front of them, and what's in front of them is a story about a deranged android in a dream screaming "GIVE ME BACK MY WHIFE!" Dissecting the game is very fun though. Like imagining what kind of society creates the Aras, which go insane and then withdraw into the vents in the walls to die there, and the instruction manual simply states "Fuck it, leave it alone."
