You’re right, history rhymes, and we’re seeing the same patterns of rot and complacency today. Something must be done, but it has to come from the outside, from the people. If it comes from within the system, it will just become a new form of tyranny. Once the worst of the rot is cleansed, we need real safeguards: Guarantee the immediate formation of at least 4 viable political parties. Hold a new presidential election within 4 years. During that transition, fill Congress and the Senate with mostly new people under strict term limits (4–6 years). For the presidency, extend each term to 8 years but keep the max at 2–3 terms total. The goal isn’t perfect harmony, it’s building in real checks and balances so power can’t concentrate again. What do you think?
