ERLC trustee Jon Whitehead says the problem with the entity is that they aren’t telling the truth to Southern Baptists. “Like I said, the problem is the truth. Are we going to be authentic to Southern Baptists and earn their trust? Or are we going to try to razzle dazzle them and say Brent Leatherwood has personally defunded Planned Parenthood? That's just not the reality. I'm glad Planned Parenthood appears to have been defunded because of the hard work of Congress and the hard work of voters and the hard work of the President, and I have no doubt Southern Baptists would support it. But it had nothing to do with the ERLC’s efforts.”

This is an opportunity for the Southern Baptist Convention to speak in truth and unity in conviction consistent with our confession. There’s a great line that divides liberal and biblical evangelicalism, and you can see it on this very issue. The trajectory of liberal denominations is clear: the Southern Baptist Convention in adopting the Baptist Faith and Message in the year 2000 stated confession that the office of Pastor is limited to men as qualified by scripture. Subsequent years have demonstrated that we need constitutional clarity on this issue. This will allow the Southern Baptist Convention to move forward in unity and in truth, and I believe the Lord has brought us together in Orlando, Florida, to do just that.” Seminary President Al Mohler was the first person at a floor mic to introduce a motion. It was the proposed amendment to the SBC Constitution limited the pastorate to men only. The motion goes to the Committee on the Order of Business, which is likely to bring it for a vote on Wednesday. He also moved to suspend Rule 6, allowing a first vote this year. An earlier motion to raise the required majority on suspending Rule 6 to two-thirds failed. Response from the floor was that the move was a preemptive strike to prevent an early vote on the Mohler Amendment.

With all the Candace Owens and Ian Carrolls spewing their nonsense, it’s so refreshing to hear Douglas Murray on the Joe Rogan Podcast coming out with pure common sense. He addresses the herd mentality surrounding the situation between Israel and Gaza and the fact that the vast, vast majority of people are, in simple terms, talking out of their rear.

ICE and Trump are ravaging the social contract and waging bloody war on the citizenry. The vast majority of the amendments in the Bill of Rights are being trampled right now in Minnesota. We need a nationwide political mobilization across the political spectrum to defend the 1st Amendment, the 2nd Amendment, all the way through to the 9th and 10th, and to revive the battered social contract.
