Why does the WNBA keep getting in it's own way?

The NBA needs to get involved. The WNBA has never turned a profit as a league and is heavily subsidized by the NBA and always has been. They can’t love how the WNBA seems to go out of their way to not market their most popular player. It’s insane.

The WNBA can’t have a player who is bigger than the game, especially a White player. Instead of embracing CC and showcasing her for the benefit of the league they are trying to bring her down a notch. There is obviously a lot of resentment and jealousy amongst WNBA players. Contrast this to Michael Jordan and the NBA. The WNBA is a bush league organization. No wonder no one watches games without CC.

The WNBA does NOT want Caitlin Clark to be the reason why WNBA gained sudden popularity. They just can't stand this fact that a straight, white talented female is the face of women's basketball.

It's a league that had a small fan base that saw it as more of a cultural & political safe space than an entertainment-based pro sports league. Then, a ton of longtime pro sports fan starting following CC, & they are simply holding the W to the same standard as other pro leagues.
