Why does this aircraft have big canards

Delta wings don't maneuver well. They cheaper to build, hole a lot of fuel and best at straight line speed. Add the canards and you regain all the leverage lost via the delta wing.

They just installed the tail on the wrong end

Originally designed for the Vatican Air Force it's supposed to evolve memories of the flying nun.

Controls pitch attitude.

I ask this every time I’m naked in front of a mirror. PS - I’m talking about my love handles.

Has to do with a center of lift of wings being offset from plane's center of mass. A conventional aft horizontal stabilizer generates downward force (negative lift). A canard forward generates positive lift to accomplish same stability. Here too, in this instance, space.

Much like the fringed lizard, it flaps them at approaching enemies to try and appear larger than it really is, intimidating the foes into leaving.

It has 49 computers and they must all interphase at startup or you don’t launch 🚀 😎

Because it has daltawing and no elevater on the tail so thay use big canards in the front to act as an elevater

No horizontal stabilizers on the tail.

Because it's a Typhoon and canards are sexy.

Canard are big energy depleters.

It's like a steering booster. 😆

Big canards???!!!.....I KNOW HER!!!....😁😆😃😍

It’s a French thing.

Gay. Canards are gay.

So it shows up on radar easier.

Because it’s gay. Canards are gay.

manage airflow to enhance performance

I dont get it why people post these kinds of things man? Typhoon is not the only plane to have these; Delta winged jets have this feature everywhere; you must be looking at a jet for the first time. (I m not trying to be rough or rude, but a clear kind request to research first)

Because it has an exceedingly small pitot tube.....guys who drive Corvettes face the same challenge. 😝

Turn fast; get in & out of ‘The Shit’ real fast!

To make up for aerodynamic deficiencies.

Increases frontal sensitivity.

These canards serve as primary pitch control surfaces in the Typhoon's unstable delta-wing design, generating lift and vortices to maintain airflow over the wings at high angles of attack, enabling tighter turns and super-maneuverability up to 35 degrees AoA without stall.

@ejnyamogo Because they look freaking cool 😎

@ejnyamogo My wife married me for my big canards

Because.

To impress the ladies.

Cause she is a delta wing

Peacocking.

Because there are no elevators on the rear.

She got a canard job

No tail fins

For aerial maneuvers
