ADHD apparently, caffeine calms those people down instead of getting them all hyped up.

I believe it’s an energy crash that causes this. The only other option is he’s lying, I believe he’s lying

Drank so much the body got used to it and need a stronger dose, or more.

Because your body is actively telling you that it doesn’t work and it is fighting against it by having you despise it. There’s so much garbage in Red Bull. I only drink cold brew now and it works every time.

Fun fact! People with ADHD feel the opposite affect of caffeine, it helps them calm down and relax. And this is coming from someone with adhd!

Everyone says ADHD, but maybe it's because he drinks like 3 energy drinks a day and his brain is so fried from caffeine addiction that it no longer does anything for him.

Chemical imbalance. People who have ADD or ADHD energy drinks that contain more caffeine and crap work opposite way. We need clean food and straight vitamins supplements such as B6 for focus, B12 for the energy. No artificial dyes, or artificial sugar.

😂😂😂 I would sign a waiver for a good energy drink

As people have said, ADHD. But also, it's not even really 'energy' people are getting. Being sleepy is like a check engine light. Energy drinks turn off that check engine light, but it has diminishing returns and can have no effect at all if you are too tired.

Paradoxical effect. People with ADHD, for instance experience this. Which is why, for them, stimulants (ie - adderral) calm them down

No ADHD and that's me. I can drink a full Monster/Rockstar and go to sleep and hour later. Caffeine does nothing for me.

I believe this can be an ADHD thing, essentially the same way adderall works for people with ADHD bringing their baseline brain chemicals to a normal level whereas a neurotypical person taking it becomes hyperactive and super high energy rather than resulting in a calm focus

I get this like a lot. it's blood flow restriction in your brain and then it opens up again, so the change up in the blood flow in your brain causes migraines and dizziness especially if caffeine is unbuffered like that from energy drinks. and it completely overwhelms your senses, then it shuts you down. however if the caffeine is buffered, from additives like protein shake, this slows down the absorption of protein, so the effect is slower an more sustained. source: gemini

This stuff happens to me too, if I am already pretty high on caffeine and get another one it just puts me to sleep. It works with any stimulant, the sad part is, that when I build up tolerance I can't really tell when it's too much, it doesn't really do much just puts me to sleep

You have a spike of sugar and caffeine which means that for a while it's giving you energy but since it's ephemeral once it goes back down it's so abrupt that it makes you tired

ADHD. Stimulants work differently on an ADHD brain, instead of stimulation and energy, they provide focus, which means a quieter mind, which means sleepy

Hey, so there's a lot of reasons, but genuinely: low dopamine is a big one. If you experience this, I would ask - do you have adhd? People with ADHD often can have lots of stimulants like sugar and caffeine and not feel it's affects.
