Alerted about the #incident, a #constable on duty at the #IIITJunction tried to stop the #vehicle. Shockingly, the #driver identified as G Tarun (24), sped towards him, causing the #constable to land on the car’s #bonnet and dragging him for nearly a kilometre. With the help of other #motorists, the #car was finally stopped and police took the driver into #custody. Further #investigation is underway.

New surveillance video shows a man with a machete threatening a driver during a carjacking in Manhattan last week. Police said the 27-year-old driver was sitting in his parked Honda on West 11th Street in Greenwich Village when three male suspects forced him out of his car and stole it. The suspect was later shot by police & subsequently died in hospital. SPS say the incident began around 1 p.m. when officers responded to a report of an assault at a building in the 13300 block of Old Yale Rd. Police located two victims suffering from stab wounds, while the suspect had fled the scene. A short time later, police located the suspect nearby. A confrontation occurred, resulting in officers firing their service weapons. The suspect was seriously injured, transported to hospital, & later pronounced dead. IHIT is investigating the homicide, while IIO is reviewing the police actions.

One of the alleged suspects died whilst the other one sustained some injuries. The incident occurred in Verena on Wednesday, 24 December 2024. According to a report, Police as well Medical Emergency Services were called to the scene, and it was during this period when one of the men was pronounced dead, while the other was taken to the hospital for treatment. He is currently hospitalized under Police guard. The incident is believed to be linked to stocktheft incident, where 26 cattle, six goats, and a donkey were reportedly stolen from a certain farm in Verena. The Police investigation indicates that a shepherd was attacked earlier that day then robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. Thereafter, the suspects are believed to have fled the scene in two bakkies with trailers when their vehicles got stuck in the mud, leading to their capture and attack by the mob.
