Why Don’t Builders Make Walls Solid?

Men are usually built using bricks with air pockets for thermal insulation. Of course, this method works too, though it requires more materials and is more labor-intensive.

or you can use this instead

The wider its base, the more stable a wall will be and a cavity provides a moducum of thermal insulation. However, not sure that laying bricks on edge is perhaps the best way to achieve this. Many counties use honeycomb brick blocks.

Yeah, it saves materials and speeds up the job

This is termed RAT TRAP BOND masonry, the voids in between resists extreme temperature variations.

To save materials, reduce cost, allow wiring/plumbing, and prevent cracking.

Because it would take much more material to build it solid. And if you want want to run pipes or electricity through it, it’s easier to do it when it’s hollow

Why they build it like that? Because they are poor…

They're making CMU / cinder blocks out of bricks.

Not ideal for quake-prone construction.

Is it safe?

Non of this type of walling is a thing in the UK

they usually do, a cement truck comes and fills them up

@grok que tipo de construccion es esa, y que beneficio aporta a la vivienda?

I think cinder blocks would be much better and maybe stronger too?
