Why God does not exist. My best arguments against the proposition that God does exist, at the Oxford Union Society debate. (I know, you can't prove a negative, but there is substantial positive evidence that humans created the God concept, which I present here.)

Very weak talk, this is focussing on religion rather than god.

Religion might be the only time non-believers are expected to prove there's no there there, while believers feel no need to prove what isn't is.

Come back to Jesus, Michael, while there is still time. I do believe that if you were born again, you can't be unborn, so maybe you're on solid ground. However, one would have to be curious how God would reward you for your active efforts to move people away from Him.

What a straw-man of an opener! Those stats are nonsense as they assume a specific and total agreement on the meaning and ethos of a 'higher power' as delivered 'mystically' by the chief texts of each denomination. Such an outcome evaluation is therefore hopelessly reductive.

Of course we did. All gods are human constructs.

"humans created the God concept": What concepts did humans *not* create?

I’ve always loved this debate!

The question should be “how can God not exist?”

So a ridiculous appeal to ignorance logical fallacy is all you have? LOL #AtheismIsAMentalIllness

I think at this point everybody is already OK with realizing it's a fiction. Now it's about "metaphorical truth". Religion is baked into our social fabric and arguably psychology. Can we build better society without it?

Your God does not exist. You have no proof of the existence of your God and you know it.
