Why grandparents often gift their grandkids

I once heard singer, Patti LaBelle, talk about how much she loved her grandmother. And she mentioned it was the way her grandmother’s face lit up every time she walked into the room. I’ve always tried to practice that… Whatever cares and woes are buffeting my day-to-day life, when the grandchildren come in the door… Everything takes a backseat. Everything, and everyone!

Well hmm, my father once told me he actually loves his grand kids more than his own kids🤣 I said because they were raised right by your own kids.

I adopted my foster daughter when she was 6 and l was 59. Having no grandchildren l got my grandma fix spoiling her. Yikes!!!!

Grandchildren are the only people you will ever meet that you KNOW before you ever meet them that you will love and be loved by them intensely for the rest of your life. Your parents were always there. Even if it was love at first sight, you didn’t know how much you could love your spouse until you spent years together. The day your child was born, you’d lay down your life, but you coudn’t know how much that love would grow overtime. But you know all that when a grandchild is born. It’s the day you meet the purest, simplest love of your life.

I interviewed several grandparents, and their answer is: "we can spoil these kids without regret and then the parents take them back home." That's why it looks they love the grandkids more.

I spent a lot of time with my grandmother. I cherish the time she spent teaching me her wisdom and how to do the basics like cooking and laundry. She helped to make me the person I am today. Thank you, grandma. 😀😇

No you’re wrong it’s a better love. I see it w my parents. Back when I was growing up they were tired they had tons of pressures dad had to work missed games couldn’t be bothered. Now all the time, vacations w the grandkids running 40 mins almost daily to babysit

I’ve ALWAYS said this! I don’t love my grandsons more! I love them like I love my children . I don’t treat them better or “spoil” them. I treat them like my own. In a way they ARE my kids. I would kill or die for my children and grandchildren . Protect them all !

Thank You for this! I have been telling my aunts that my parents love my children just as they love me. It's that they don't have, like you said, that deadlines and pressures that they have while starting a family.

Agree to a point. Two of mine were brought in at older ages through adoption. They look nothing like my daughter. That doesn't matter at all. We love them because they are amazing blessings whether they remind us of our children or not.

I can’t wait to become a grandparent. This is an experience you will deeply miss out on if you don’t have children. Have y’all seen the happiness and love that is equally shared when grandparents and grandchildren spend time together? It’s so very special. I believe this is the reason for our longevity.
