Why not put a cobra instead of a python and test this theory? Put them on the edge of a sky scraper and see if they are afraid of heights? Research should focus on when babies detect danger/threat.

To them, the serpent is not a threat, but a movement, a mystery. The fear comes later, with knowledge.
