I still remember my house job year in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department like it was yesterday. A woman was brought in after delivering at a traditional birth attendant’s home. By the time she got to us, she was already septic. Very ill. Weak. Fighting for her life. We reviewed her and prescribed ceftriaxone (Rocephin) a basic, life-saving antibiotic in that situation. But there was a problem: she couldn’t afford it. Our team was not small 2 consultants, 3 senior registrars, 3 junior registrars, and 3 house officers. Every day on ward round, we repeated the same plan: Advise the relatives to get the drug Inform social welfare But nothing changed. Day after day, she lay there getting worse. You could literally see life leaving her body slowly, not because we didn’t know what to do, but because she couldn’t pay for it. I spoke up. I told my seniors repeatedly that the drug hadn’t been given. It was always acknowledged, but the system moved the same way slow, helpless, routine. By the third day, I couldn’t take it anymore. I was angry. Frustrated. Powerless. With the little salary I was earning as a house officer, I went and bought one vial of Rocephin myself. It felt like the least I could do… like maybe, just maybe, it would make a difference. But it was already too late. We lost her. That day changed something in me. It made me realize that in our system, patients don’t just die from disease they die from poverty, from delays, from a healthcare structure that often leaves the most vulnerable behind. And sometimes, all you’re left with as a doctor is the painful question: “If she had gotten that drug earlier… would she still be alive?”

This made me teary 🥹💔… seeing what medical professionals in Nigeria go through the stress, long hours, and still showing up to save lives despite everything. It’s honestly heartbreaking and shows how strong they have to be. Well done my brother

Dr Njemanze exposed how bill gates and executives of @GeneralElectric sat with @nassnigeria @NigeriaGov to issue a blank cheque to make sure no medical professional is able to practice in Nigeria Hand over health sovereignty to US empire. It's intentional sabotage to destroy us

I remember when my siblings didn't believe me when I was struggling from one rubbish job to the other, sometimes even begging for money as a Doctor. They believed I was living a rough life. Finally e don touch everybody. It was just a matter of time anyways.

My neighbor is a gynecologist working at a private hospital, he barely has time for himself. He's always at work, most times he comes back with so many complaints; being the only available doctor attending to numerous patients. Just got to find out he earns less than N200k.
