⭕️ Rep. Rashida Tlaib: “The same folks who attack us are the reason that Trump’s in office. It’s true, folks. They reject people like us who don’t want the crumbs anymore. We don’t want to wait for change. We need it now. When the folks come out and try to box us in and they say, ‘Oh, you all this and that and this and that,’ well, the fact that you haven’t moved with urgency is literally why people feel betrayed.”

I'm pulling on the thread of this new PCA church plant, Kindred Hope, and would like your opinions on what's going on with it. In a May 2023 podcast, Howard + Kellie Brown explain why they left their previous church. I will just leave a transcript here to avoid editorializing: "We were always more white than black, and we got to a point where our hearts were wanting to say more to black folks...There were things that we saw that black folks were dealing with and going through that we wanted to just address wholeheartedly, but a few times when Howard would do that, folks would complain and say, 'Hey, I'm a white person. What about me? I feel left out.' And so that came to be more of a hardship. Because we understood the need for our white congregants. I do think some folks who go to multi-ethnic churches have to constantly be educated on what it means for them, whether you've been there 10 days or 10 years. That just became a strain when the white folks are saying, 'Hey, we wanna go over here,' and you're looking at the black folks and recognizing that they actually need to go somewhere else through the ministry of the church. So that was one of the major issues. And then COVID wiped us out. White folks were a lot more ready to come back to church, and they did once we opened. And our black brothers and sisters were really very nervous and skeptical about coming back to church, even when precautions, we had all the precaution. For black folks, it still just didn't feel safe."

NEW: Dr. Oz says some of the most important people helping expose Medicare fraud are industry insiders who know exactly how the system can be manipulated — and are willing to speak up when they see abuse. "We benefit from whistleblowers. Our most important whistleblowers have been members of industry who know the game, know how you can cheat it if you're unethical. And they point out to us when these problems occur." "We do not want to hurt the folks who are earnestly involved in hospice and durable medical equipment suppliers... but we're going to slow down the growth of these sectors so we can get our arms around the problem, because it is of massive magnitude to us."

When Trump said Hispanic migrants are “taking Black jobs,” what he really meant was: Black folks are taking white jobs, and we need to get the plantation back in order. I’m from the Deep South—the 50th-ranked state in the country. A state that’s over a third Black, yet run by conservatives who always find a way to blame Black communities for its failures. So, I’m never shocked by statements like these. But I do wonder—do all the folks who like to play nice and pretend everything is fine still feel that way today? We have a choice in how we move forward with each other. Trump should be letting the investigation play out, but he can’t help himself. He’s on a mission to restore what he and Elon see as the natural order: intelligent white men and women in charge—who, in reality, are just mediocre—backed by a handful of others who pledge their loyalty to whiteness. At this point, I just want us to stop pretending. And to the Black folks who never support Black leaders—is this better? The future we want won’t build itself. It’s on us to fight for—now.

When we talk about the two million Pennsylvanians who rely on SNAP, we’re not talking about a statistic. These folks are our friends, family members, and neighbors – hard-working people across every corner of the Commonwealth, who just need a little extra help to put food on the table. We’re stepping up to the plate, because here in Pennsylvania, we have each other’s backs.
