Why is every unfortunate incident in Nigeria immediately turned into proof that the country is a failure? Every tragedy is instantly politicised. This was just last week in Montreal, Canada. Nobody claimed Canadians voted wrongly or used the disaster to mock the entire country. Yes, we should demand accountability... show more

This was New York few weeks ago 🤔

Literacy level in Nigeria is low while it's high in Canada, they understand that no drainage will work when infrastructure is built at water level, they understand flash flood. Most Nigerians are educated morons, they just want to complain & catch cruise with everything

You are indeed sick .. So we should be dancing and singing praises with flood so you will feel alright . How can you hold government accountable without it looking politicized. You guys are quick to compare other country with bad event in Nigeria and never to compete with Good event in other country… show me where you have compared Nigeria health system with these country you have compared flood event in Nigeria..

Lagos, 10mm rain in 3-4hrs. Montreal, 140mm rain in 2 hours. If 140mm rain drops in Lagos in 2 hours, the flood of Noah will be a child's game. Also, noticed how the streets of Montreal were not covered in trash? When wickedness fills the soul, foolishness reigns supreme.

@Adebayoadesanya Mr. Canadian, lost your mojo?

The gov of Canada is going to provide relief to the affected and treat the issue as a natural disaster. Now can ur government do the same since we are nw comparing.

@lexyy4real Likes of Adebayo are suffering from INFERIORITY COMPLEX. Flash flooding is common with places surrounded by bodies of water like @followlasg, BAD CITIZENS indiscriminate disposal of waste, blocking drainage is to blame for most of d flooding. Canada is lucky not to have Obidiots.

Shouldn’t be the case. The more we politicize everything, the more we distract from issues, make governance difficult, & outcomes improbable. That said, flood in Canada is despite apparent efforts to contain, but with us,it’s in the face of apparent protracted systemic failures.

Don't mind them. They only remember to throw away their rubbish when the rains start. Now they've blocked all the drainage channels, and they're calling on Tinubu to come and clear the drains. Personal responsibility comes before blaming the government.

Many who find living abroad as escape are quick to show they live a better life even when it has no bearing on their orientation. Slaves are usually quick to disparage the land. Flash floods happens everywhere but they don’t get it. I hope they heal ‘cause these lots are wounded.

My problem is most of you don't even stay in Nigeria and enjoy the his disaster with us. Ordinarily e ni suppose better for for that particular class of you

These are people that never believed they could travel out of Nigeria in their lifetime, so when they finally achieve their lifelong dream, the foolish comparison is endless.

Go to ville de Montréal page n see d warnings, measures they put in place every year for spring flooding. Everyday we receive alert for heatwave or storm. Does ur country do same ? Citizens are also blaming the party in power in MTL. Also tell them the flood disappeared next day

Wetin concern me with Canada. Make Canada people dey face their wahala. My own na to face Nigeria. Also, it’s quite ridiculous that you’re comparing a developed country one that has flood on every market day

And how do you know the citizens of that country are not complaining?

It's the biases in comparison for me. Some of you Agbado advocate are so quick to compare Nigeria to the west when the parameter used is negativity, let talk about development now, they will say 'do you want to compare Nigeria to Canada??

Has he responded? He can never. @Adebayoadesanya - who voted for this Govt in Montreal?

You’ve said it all.

He didn’t see that.

Because it is a recurring issue that happens every rainy season, little or no effort is made to prevent it from happening again. Our leaders often prefer to react to problems rather than proactively put measures in place to prevent them from occurring in the first place.

@coachsanmi I was telling this to someone and he said I was defending the govt , how does acknowledging the effect of climate change and natural disasters defense? One of the reasons this has not been solved is the political approach rather than climatic change approaches.

This is Ghana just a few days ago. Natural disasters happen everywhere. Flooding has become a tradition in the city of Dubai, it happens every year. I don't know what to call the kind of citizens we have here. This level of unpatriotism needs to be studied.

My problem is that the man is even in far away Canada but blaming the government for a natural disaster that's happening across the world. The blame or scrutinyshould rightly be on government action after calamity,

Nigerians ke? Past time is bashing the country.

They’re really mad especially those in diaspora are the most foolish people

Youre in uk….. compare the standard of living in uk to thst of Nigeria. Atleast since uou Dey uk, them never take light, kidnap you or you don get accident? How many bad roads uou don see How many times uou don wanna safely for night?

Does this happen every 6 months im Montreal? Since February 2017, I have been experiencing devastating flooding in Lagos.

When you are done comparing the flood in New York and Montreal, please do a comparison of their public schools, hospitals, minimum wage and social welfare systems, or do you people only draw these parallels whenever Nigerians complain about the vultures ruining their lives in 9ja

@adunoyebasheer See wetin coastal road don cause again for Canada 🥹🥹🥹🥹

Corrected currently , Nigerians need to no that every progressive society , moves with inputs from both citizens and government , request accountability and also contribute responsibly and the society gets better , stop tribal bigotry and put the nation first

The trend is sickening.

Oga stop Comparing any working country to Nigeria

Leave dem even as rain fall. Na Tinubu still make der house der lick

God bless you bro this people dump skull

Nir have be cursed to demarket themselves and country so dont be surprised I h had friends visit Nigeria and are surprised by what they experienced contrast to what Nigerians say online e about their nation , yes there has been a long neglect of the core basics which is been
