why is meryl here when she literally did this:

calling it a terrible performance when she was oscar nominated for it??? words are losing meaning these days 😭😭😭

SHE WAS THE ONLY SAVING GRACE OF THIS MOVIE!!!! PUT SONE RESPECT ON MADAME STREEP!!!!

Meryl’s not to blame for this movie at all. Giving it to Disney was a choice. I don’t really think Disney understood the source material.

Like how do you watch last midnight and think her performance is bad

LIKE SERIOUSLY. The saving grace of that film (and an objectively incredible performance in of itself too, she’s incredible in this). Heck even her DELETED song from the movie is a better performance that some folks could dream of giving!

Right like this PARTICULAR song deserves any and all awards

She ate so bad hello

She was brilliant as the witch! Sondheim literally created a new song just for her!

And still shes nominated in Oscar for that film, yikes.

?

It is a terrible performance , that writer just saying the truth

objectively it isn’t terrible lol

It is

yeah she was like the only good part of this film

She was brilliant in Into the Woods.

this is a phenomenal performance everyone brain fried

Halle Berry did a terrible peformance or was it the writing and directing that was insuficient? I don't see how her acting itself was so bad.

she was incredible in this movie what are people talking about

people just love to paint her as mediocre and they just sound crazy af

She carried into the woods tbh

The talent!!!

she says stay with me i ain’t going anywhere simple as that

Honestly, the best performer of the film. Still love Bernadette Peters in the role but Meryl was good enough to rise above the rest of the stunt casting.

Pulled that list right out of their ass I see

the saving grace of a butchered adaptation.

Into the woods was a good movie w good performances actually

she really looked at the camera and chose violence that day

Confusing terrible performances with terrible movies

Mind you this is the best movie of all time aside from JC

James Corden is in that film. There. I gave everyone enough of a reason to stay away.

this isn’t even her best moment of the movie too

He cast is actually fantastic! I think it’s just not a mainstream story for most. A lot of people think it’s such a downer. And many didn’t know the story of the play/broadway , going in. So what sounded like a fun time, turned out to be quite depressing.

the concept of meryl streep’s worst performance being an oscar nominated role

As someone who saw the movie first, I was young, and knows how heinous the movie is regarded, I can’t hate it bc Meryl shines so much

Into the Woods is her best nominated performance since Doubt.
