Why is Model Y so good at this 🙌

As a point of comparison, we couldn’t even get the Escalade IQ up to the actual testing spot where 3 wheels don’t have traction 😩

Gravity vs Rollers ⚡️

It's almost like Tesla has better software

Who needs a locking differential when you have the best electric drivetrain 😎

Best car ever!!!

Because Tesla engineers understand feedback loops and control systems, AND the instant torque of electric motors reduces what's called the transport delay of said feedback loops. Transport delay in this context refers to the time between when the vehicle controller computers request power to a wheel and when the computers can measure that effect at the wheel speed sensors. This is important because the wheel speeds are what inform the computer when deciding which wheel to give power to (eg, if one is slipping) In a traditional ICE car, you have to account for transport delays introduced by the torque converter, turbocharger, transmission, and engine response time. There is less control simply because there's more transport delay.

Because the Model Y is the best car in the world!

Years and years of feedback from Canadian iced Roads! 😂

It’s the best car I’ve owned.

Because is Tesla 😉

@MatHias8719 Something you’ll never learn trough @ElectrekCo @fredlambert

You’re surprised? It’s Tesla. Best of the best for the lowest cost of the other 2.

Very cool. I’d love to see how the dual vs tri vs quad motor Rivian compares on the same roller test.

They control their software and firmware. That’s why.

Because Tesla doesn't compromise.

If you have the chance try it backwards. Then the smaller calipers/brakes have to shift the torque.

I have never experienced traction control or throttle response as good as Tesla's self-developed system.

@klwtts Nice

Saying Gravity was pretty good after seeing the Model Y is hilarious. Lucid stunk by comparison.

If the Y only had better ground clearance, it would be so decent off road for a CUV. I do know that with 4 good winter tires, it's as good in my northern ME winters as the ground clearance allows. 'Not surprised at all at this roller test result.

Exactly what I do expect from Tesla 😃 .

@nic_wigs 😏😍

Really cool test. Would love to see Cybertruck Beast vs AWD to see how much locking differentials matter.

Superior engineering? Luck?

if you're crossing unplowed snow between highway lanes in the winter you can feel the torque shift as needed and it's smooth as butter

@SawyerMerritt

Cybertruck AWD next? 🍿

I imagine the independent motor-control that operates before traction control kicks in is probably helping a bit?

👏

Bravo Tesla 👏⚡

Amazing comparison

I spy a @CarGuy! 🕵♂️

Better inverters, motors and software.

What other cars (EV/ICE) do you have on these rollers?
