Why are you getting involved? You are supposed to be an unbiased and fair journalist. You miss that day in journalism school ?

Serious question, what’s wrong with charter schools? Because the CPS is terrible. I went to CPS for my last two years of high school (02-03) and they were years behind. Teachers I know tell me horror stories about the students, teachers and the employees. I don’t know enough about charters schools, but the teachers at them seem more engaged. No hate, seriously just wondering.

maybe because despite the gobs and gobs of money thrown at CTU, the school system is a bloated, inefficient, dysfunctional mess that needs to be massively right sized because almost a quarter of the students have fled in the last decade or so leaving tons of schools mostly empty

A charter school wouldn’t keep Douglass Academy High open with 35 students. It’s important that taxpayers have someone on the board playing defense. The CTU will have plenty of board members rolling over for the union.

Are you going to ignore the billionaires that support the despicably corrupt public schools in Chicago? Charters are only a partial answer. Chicago needs universal school choice. The Chicago public school system happily gives terrible teachers a raise each year. The good teachers are underpaid while excess administrators get paid handsomely. All terrible teachers must be fired immediately, but the public system protects them at all costs. Beyond unconscionable.

Why does CPD waste $10 Billion of taxpayer money while failing students year after year? Why the fu¢k do these political prostitues … I mean ‘teachers’, deserve a raise when they don’t even show up to work? The best thing that can happen to Chicago children is the complete destruction of the CTU, and an overhaul of the school system. Anybody who destroys this corrupt systemm is doing Chicago a favor.

School board elections are THE MOST important races in this election. They will affect all of us.
