A young female motorist was arrested for drunk driving on Youth Day, after allegedly driving under the influence on the N2, crashing into road infrastructure and driving into oncoming traffic. According to KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport and Human Settlements Siboniso Duma, the driver was highly intoxicated, became unruly with Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) officers, and reportedly attempted to intimidate them by asking if they knew who she was. After failing to answer a simple road safety question posed by officers, she was arrested and is expected to appear in court on 17 June.

This lady lives out in the country. Her house is down a long gravel dirt road. She said that the residents there have imposed a 10 mph speed limit. This delivery driver coming up behind her, went speeding down the road according to her. So, she is in her golf cart and driving 10 mph to slow him down on his way out. She said it’s a respect issue. Many people said she has no right to do that. She says she owns the easement rights and the road is a private easement and other nigh it’s live down that road as well. Other drivers commented that all her packages in the future would be dropped off at the beginning of the road if it was their route. What do you think? This truck driver was on the highway when the lane next to her was ending, she’s fed up with all of the irresponsible drivers that she knows is going to try to cut her off. Right on cue a woman and her son are driving on the shoulder of the road. St this point she’s not even in a lane anymore. The other driver still aggressively tries to cut her off to get into her lane, and ends up clipping the semi truck.the woman is irate and screams about how the truck driver hit her and how it’s the truck drivers fault. Having the whole thing on video is going to save her this time. But do you feel she intentionally caused the accident by not letting the other woman over, does she have an obligation to back off until the woman is in the lane?
