@Isaac91daniel @ptrmadurai Why should we burden our children with a third language let it be malayalam or telugu or kannada or even hindi which they may not use it in their lifetime after school. If a third language is particularly necessary for them let them study it whenever it is required.

@ptrmadurai Pls be proficient in any language for all we care. With this pls keep TN working class to stay in TN & don’t send them to work in other states. TN is doing better than many other states & we know the quality of people coming out of TN. We are happy if you keep them in TN itself

@ptrmadurai Which two languages he expects Tamil Nadu border area children to learn, when their mother tongues are Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam? Which two languages should tribal people like Irula, Toda, Badaga, Kurumba etc learn? Will they get TN state govt jobs without learning Tamil?

Tamil Nadu IT and Digital Services Minister Dr P Thiaga Rajan (PTR) on Wednesday mounted a sharp defence of the state’s language policy, daring the Centre to “do better” if it wants Tamil Nadu to reconsider its stand on the three-language formula under the National Education Policy (NEP). He made the remarks while speaking at India Today's Tamil Nadu Roundtable event. Thiru Karunanidhi, an elderly gentleman, asked the DMK Minister, Thiru Dr P Thiaga Rajan (PTR), a pointed question as to why the State Government of TN is against implementing the 3 language policy. Instead of answering, he was bullied by the DMK Minister & was pushed out of the hall for exposing the flawed policies of the TN Government that have deprived children studying in govt schools of learning a third language.

In my recent interview with Rajdeep Sardesai on IndiaToday, I discussed Tamil Nadu's steadfast stance on the two-language policy. Our position is clear: we will not adopt the three-language formula. History proves its failure—even the 1986 NEP acknowledged the inability to implement it properly. Tamil Nadu has consistently delivered better educational outcomes with the two-language system. #WATCH | Chennai, Tamil Nadu: DMK MP and senior advocate P Wilson says, "Tamil Nadu is a state that is adopting a two-language formula. Till today, with that two-language formula, Tamil Nadu's gross enrollment ratio and other activities, the students who have studied from Tamil Nadu, their flags are flying high. We are not allowing this three-language formula. Nearly 3500 crores are not being settled under the Samagra Shiksha. Now the central government is adopting a new tactic. Certainly, the state will oppose whenever it comes within its jurisdiction to oppose, and our leader has rightly said that the state is bound by the two-language formula... So, whatever backdoor methods the central government is adopting, we will suddenly oppose them."

They are ruining the future of the children of Tamil Nadu. They have no right to withhold the funds which have to come to the children of Tamil Nadu. Yesterday, he (Dharmendra Pradhan) responded in a very abusive way, saying that we are dishonest and that the people of Tamil Nadu are uncivilised. Under the Department of Official Language, Narendra Modi Govt has set up Indian Languages Section which will work to enhance the usage of all Indian languages - Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Assamese, Bengali, all languages. After December, I will have written correspondence with citizens, CMs, Ministers and MPs in their own language. This is a strong reply to those who run their shops in the name of language to hide their corruption...What are they saying? That we oppose languages of the south? How can this be possible?...I come from Guajrat, Nirmala Sitharanan from Tamil Nadu. How can we oppose this? What are you saying? We have worked for languages...I would like to tell Tamil Nadu Government - we have been saying for two years that you do not have the courage to translate medical and engineering study material into Tamil...You cannot do this. When an NDA govt comes to power (in Tamil Nadu), we will provide medical and engineering course in Tamil, in Tamil Nadu. I would like to tell those who spread poison in the name of language that you like languages from thousands of kilometres away but you do not language of India...I have said this again and again Hindi has no competition with any other Indian language. Hindi is a friend of all Indian languages, all Indian languages strengthen from Hindi and Hindi strengthens from all Indian languages..."
