why is the random dice minigame so well made visually and physics wise lol?

There's a reason people want dice poker back in Witcher 4

i want this sort of potion brewing back ngl, more thoughtful and adds a really nice touch to the game

Funny enough the dice poker game in witcher 1 feels smoother than the one in witcher 2, always found that a little odd

I’m so glad that Doug Cockle got better in the later games

The strangest thing is Doug actually sounds amazing in those rare cutscenes that feature art pieces, like in the end of chapter 1, but in normal dialogue he sounds super flat

Watching the clip with the innkeeper asking for a beer, I don’t know if it’s the game’s audio or Doug’s voice, but it sounds very bad, but the Witcher 1 was limited by its time and how it was CDPR’s first real game, so I think Doug’s voice not being great is the game’s fault

If I remember correctly, dice can sometimes even be yeeted off the board accidentally. It was really fascinating

I specifically remember how the dice throwing used to be laggy af, this shit must've been horribly unoptimized at the time. Random physics simulation in the Neverwinter engine.

CDPR wanted a story based around their board game, but they got carried away and made the Witcher. Same thing happened with Gwent.

A shame they removed dice poker in 3 when it was a fun little minigame in 1 and 2. Gwent took it over but I still remember forgetting to reroll my dice in dice poker.
