Why is the right still glazing the Confederacy?

I can understand an American Icon being who did bad things that were acceptable at the time eg George Washington. But celebrating the confederates because they are confederates is crazy

Trump hates US democracy. He still denies losing in 2020, pardoned even the most violent Jan 6 insurrectionists, & did nothing as they stormed the Capitol. So it’s no surprise he worships a failed, treasonous, racist slave state from 160 yrs ago that collapsed after just 4 yrs.

A lot of people would argue, that the ideas that people like you push, are going to fuel the end of western democracies, if left unchecked. The support for suicidal/performative pseudo empathetic policies, that are eating the west from the inside.

History is uncomfortable and trying to cover it up is what dictators, fascists, and commies do. Confederacy bad but hiding it is a sure way to let it happen again.
