Why is the US trailing so many other nations when it comes to Plug-in Electric Vehicle use and market share? Electric vehicles, without a doubt, are the future. So why shouldn’t the US be leading the charge. Thankfully Tesla and other automobile manufacturers in the US are finally starting...

Because electric cars aren't as good of a product as gas powered cars. Why would I get an electric car? So I have to wait longer to fill it up than I would with a gas powered car? Gas powered cars are also cheaper to buy. I bought my last car for 11k. Can I get a comparable electric car for that?

EV’s are so useless! We have an over abundance of oil in our country - no reason why we should be pushing EV’s as much. The batteries from the cars sit in a landfill and they have no proper way to dispose them. It’s all a hoax to get us to spend more money where the elites have profit shares in.

Reasons: US drivers tend to drive further distances. EVs are still in short supply, and expensive in the US. "Utility EVs" like most Chinese EVs are, are not legal in the US. These are short range, cheap EVs. Pickups are big sellers in the US, and EV pickups are in short supply (I waited 3 years for a Rivian). My cost of electricity in California can be more expensive per mile than gasoline. Last month I paid .72/kWh for 1772 kWhs. That is more than $5 gas.

That’s a really good point. I think it’s only a matter of years before these ranges really increase a ton.

Well, for starters... because we have a massive country and even the best EVs can barely drive 300 miles nonstop. And we've built a culture and a society around the idea that we should be able to freely traverse it, whenever we like. We are not Europe. Or China. Thank God.

I mean China and Europe are vastly ahead of the US in most aspects thanks to the Democrats

Have you considered it might be because you have to combine every country in Europe to match the surface area of the United States? Of course you didn't. You'd just prefer to continue your ridiculous gaslighting.

It’s amazing people think electric cars are so green. Do you have any idea the space labor involved to acquire the minerals for the batteries? Or how to dispose of the batteries when they’re depleted. They are of course charged with mostly fossil fuels. They’re only green when they are being driven.

This👇👇👇 EV prices are lower in China than in other countries, making them more accessible to the average consumer. As per Jato dynamics, the average price of EVs in China was €67,000 in 2015 which has currently reduced to € 32,000, a 50% reduction in price over the last 7 years. On the contrary, EV prices in USA and Europe have increased by 12.5% and 17% respectively over the same time period. Similarly, the price of an EV in China is 33% cheaper than a petrol vehicle while it is 27% and 43% higher in USA and Europe respectively.

That’s a fair point. I think China just has cheaper cars in general.
