Why is this so satisfying?!

Yes but where we can find an app that coverts out has books displayed this way

That's an important question!

@elonmusk can you create a capacity for Grok to transform a book for speed reading as shown. Flashing text within a certain period of time eg read chapter 1 in 15 mins. Xspeed reader or X flash reader coupled with encyclopedias or textbooks high quality not woke textbookโค๏ธ๐๐๐ซถ

@elonmusk I second this @elonmusk

This was so frustratingly slow I had to skip to the end and that felt normal.

I agree lol

NEUROPLASTICITY. ONE OF MY FAVORITE WORDS. THANKS FOR THIS, DOLL.

๐

900 wpm It's like how you pass a billboard and just know what it says

Our brains are insane

I aced it.. after two beers and three shots

Lmao i'm high af and aced it ๐

Proud of you lol

Me too lmao

๐คฃ

I could read the whole thing. Interesting test.

Me too. I knew I could read fast but this just surprised me that I could read that fast. Very interesting. ๐ค

Not only did I ace it but have both earbuds in listening to Chris Webby rapping at the same time comprehending song lyrics and words on screen simultaneously. Pretty wild exercise.

It's definitely fun and kinda hurts your eyes a little

That's just adhd ๐ I have it too

@WilliamJon18144 We all have ADHD, if you don't think you have you just aren't paying attention.

@WilliamJon18144 Lmao

whatever is happening with humans and the internet is tied to these parts of the brain.

๐ค๐ง

I think 1000 is about where you max out automatically on single words. There isn't enough time to catch it after that. If it was in sets of 3 I think you could do the same...but technically faster.

I was today years old when I learned I can read 900wpm

Same!! Lol

I think this makes reading too easy. Too passive. I want my brain to work a little. The friction adds something. The most valuable things in my life that I ever read all had that friction in common. I had to read them very slowly over and over again until something clicked. But after that, I felt like the whole world was different.

Whoa I could read to the end๐ณ

Our brains are pretty amazing ๐

Probably because we are used to digging through boat loads of info ourselves and have learned to absorb data at first glance. This kinda does the work for you and your brain easily catches up. I have to turn playback speed on audio up because I get impatient listening. I can hear faster as well as read faster. Smart Gen Z and Alpha do this easily too. I know they like making fun of the โGen Z stareโ but those kids have way more info in their heads than most realize.

You make a good point there.

I did it about one minute and 40 seconds and then I felt stressed out for some reason so I stopped ๐

That was stressful but i saw 900....Thanks

Me: When is it going to speed up. "This is 2x as fast as most people can read." Oh- 900 was a bit rough but I used to skim all the time so having the words pop up with a focal point made it easier.

Read it all but donโt ask me to repeat it.๐

Same ๐คฃ

Fun and exciting. If, however, the bulk of the material required nuance and vernacular unfamiliar, it might prove tricky.

Read the whole thing with my "inner voice" turned on. Only struggled at 900 wpm, missed some words but still understood most of what it said. Iโve always been a fast reader, and Iโve never been able to turn my inner voice off.

I was able to read it all. I learned to speed read 45 years ago. It freaked the teachers out. ๐๐

Thatโs cool

Very cool ๐ฏ๐ฏ

I had no problem until the very end when I picked up about 80% . That said I was in the 94th percentile when tested in grade 12. The music was slightly distracting.

Nice! Who thought 900 words a minute would be that easy lol

All the way I read a book on Speed reading in school and it says the same thing pretty much except your going one word at a time instead of a sentence

By the end of this my vision at the edges had grayed out and all I could see were the words flashing in the center.

Yes! As the text speeds up, we will tend to read only the Noun/Verb/Object and ignore the colorful wording and adjectives, which are not important for understanding. The Evalyn Wood Speed Reading Course taught exactly this.

I always wanted electronic books to function this way

@HoudiniCat81 Yes

@HoudiniCat81 I want to be able to read this fast all the time

@HoudiniCat81 practice!

Madman watching the video in 2.5x

Nailed it Gonna knock back a couple of coffees, and see if I can push it to ~1,200+ Then match that speed, with a verbal read-back Wish me luck

Thatโs really awesome. I donโt think I would like to read a story like that. I feel a story has its own pace and progression from one moment to the next to be digested almost as if you were in those conversations and events. Everything else would be great. ๐
