And he apparently admitted to a conference call with Tesla shareholders tonight that he's personally had to repeatedly intervene with the autopilot on his own Tesla. By his own account, that puts the stock valuation closer to zero than a lot of money.

@elonmusk The world is far too complex for software to recognize every situation. Autopilot will always have life threatening failures. If you don’t want to pilot your vehicle, take an Uber.

@elonmusk Well, this shows that the AI can't see a 3 foot tall child with their feet nailed to a sled, so it might translate to roller skaters. Now do a proper experiment with a swinging leg on the mannequin to see if that's why the AI didn't detect a pedestrian.
