All true except there is vanishingpoint and we calculate the perspective shift with high school geometry and trigonometry. Polaris is directly overhead at the north pole. If we go to lat 45 (3105 miles) The star is at 45 deg. This means we have a right isolese triangle.

Perspective dictates objects above viewer line of sight remain above the line of sight regardless of distance on a flat plane. But this is not what we observe, objects disappear below the line of sight, bottom up, like the Sun and boats:
