Times sure do change. Going from an RTS to a shooter is a real shame, especially considering the possibilities of a StarCraft with today's technology. It's a real pity.

Most people watching the announcement: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN 2030!?" Sinon: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO RTS NANOYO!?"

Sadly, it was expected. The RTS team is gone. Some made Stormgate, which is flopped. Some made Battle Aces, which is canceled. The most we can hope from Blizz is they don't kill SC, and SC2. That somehow nearly happened for SC2 with their latest patch.

Well it’s not the first time Starcraft tried a non-RTS game but thus far none have been successfully released… i guess we’ll see if they actually follow through on a game no one asked for…

This was the song of true pain unleashed by the siren! That said - I think back in the day Blizzard planned a shooter called Starcraft: Ghost that never got off the ground. Third-person, if I remember correctly? I guess they really, really want their Starcraft shooter. 😅

it is sad...also why will this FPS take x amount of years to make and release? 2030 is too far away for an FPS game announcement.

They are going to launch a shooter version, similar to Warhammer and SC 3. That's what i understand...
