Tell me again how clubs, teams, and travel teams aren't scams? My $ 80-per-season son's soccer team beat a $ 5k-per-kid club team. Somewhere along the way, youth sports stopped being about kids and started being about parents. Club sports promise: • better coaching • more exposure • better competition • scholarships But the numbers tell a different story. Only about 1% of high school athletes get a college athletic scholarship. And most of those aren’t even full rides. Meanwhile, families are spending: • $3k–$7k a year on club teams • travel flights • hotels every weekend • private trainers • camps Over 10 years, that’s easily $50k+ per kid. For youth soccer. At 10 years old. Meanwhile, rec sports still do what youth sports were originally meant to do: Kids play with friends. Parents sit in lawn chairs. Everyone grabs pizza after the game. Low pressure. Linear layer We count: 3 features in, 4 features out. So the weight matrix is 4 by 3. There is an extra column for the biases, which means bias = T. 3. ReLU Let us apply the activation. ReLU crosses out the negatives, so -1 becomes 0. 4. Linear layer The input size is 4, because that is what the previous layer put out. The output size is 2. A 2 by 4 weight matrix, and this time no extra column, so bias = F. 5. ReLU We cross out the negatives again. 6. Linear layer Two features in, five out. A 5 by 2 weight matrix, with a bias column, so bias = T. 7. Sigmoid Let us finish. Sigmoid squashes the raw scores (3, 0, -2, 5, -5) into probabilities between 0 and 1. Day 5 of my 30-day water fast. Yesterday (Day 4) was the best day I’ve had so far. •Least cravings. •Least anger. •Least frustration. •Least crash-outs. It feels like I’m purging out every negative emotion and toxin that’s lived inside me. I’m having strong emotional responses—crying at things I wouldn’t normally cry at. Even just thinking about food hits different. Taco Bell. Sushi. Kebab. And during Ramadan, knowing my mom is cooking up a storm every night makes it even harder. The vape cravings? Completely gone. But I know that if I think about it too much, my body will remember, so I just keep my mind moving forward. Started at 200 lbs on Day 0 (night time weigh in with food intake and water intake, dropped to 192.2 on Day 1, and today, on Day 5, I’m at 181 lbs. Not trying to lose weight too fast—I need as much on me as possible to survive the next 25 days. But the best part of all this? Being live 24/7. Not just to prove I’m not eating, but because I’m building a real bond with the people watching. It’s just me, them, and Muffin in this cabin. Love you guys. Inshallah, I’ll succeed today and be back tomorrow for a Day 6 update. 💕💦

For context, the largest AI models we've built probably top out around 5 trillion parameters. The brain is roughly 100x larger. Even its active params at any given moment are larger than almost every model in existence today. Here's what melts my brain (pun intnended) though Your brain does all of this on about 20 watts of power, less than a dim light bulb. Training a frontier AI model consumes enough electricity to power small cities for months. Running inference across data centers pulls megawatts. Your brain runs 24/7 for 80+ years on the equivalent of a phone charger. We haven't come close to matching the brain's scale. And we're not even in the same universe when it comes to efficiency. Evolution spent 500 million yrs optimizing the most energy-efficient intelligence architecture ever known. we're trying to brute force our way there with compute and electricity.
