Erm it would’ve been “solved” 30 years ago if there wasn’t a sh*t ton of cash to be made from EVERY facet of this carefully engineered “crisis”. That includes everything from the booming homeless industry to the more recent explosion in human trafficking aka “asylum seeking”.

I'm a tiler, there are no tiler apprenticeship and tilers are not interested in employing or training apprentices, what I see is white collar workers believing they are the answer to building a house, but they are just adding extra costs, White collar €€€€ Blue collar. €€

This isn't an ad. It’s a belief in effort over everything else. Every day, millions of Indians tap ‘Place Order’ on zomato in between their routines, responsibilities and dreams. Some are building startups. Some are raising kids. Some are taking a break. Different stories, one thing in common: Consistent effort. We’re not here to celebrate the stars, but the fire that built them. The fire each one of us carries inside — while food is just the fuel. To everyone chasing something they care deeply about and showing up for it — we're glad to be a small part of your journey ❤️

🗣️ Mikel Arteta on if it's important to keep players from the academy: "Certainly. I mean, the players that have been raised in our system and they feel generally that love and that connection with the club, it brings something else. "There is no question about that, and we need to look after them in a really special way because they bring value that is very difficult to find. That's why, when we can, we want to protect those assets as much as possible, develop them and make them extremely important for the club." 🗣️ on sending players on loan to Premier League clubs: "I think those are individual cases. Those players have to be ready as well to compete in the Premier League and to play regularly. "The priority is to expose those players and give them minutes, you better agree that that's going to be the case, and how many clubs, teams, managers in this league can guarantee that that's going to happen to a really young player that probably hasn't had exposure. "If you find it, great, because that's the level that we want them to compete. But sometimes they need a different pathway. The beauty of this is that the pathway can be completely different and the outcome can be the same, and this is the magic of football as well."

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos was described by the Canadian Ambassador to the U.S. Kirsten Hillman as “his view of what is happening in our world.” “I think that what it does mean for us is that we can't walk away from our principles,” Hillman said. “We can't walk away from our belief in rules that are to be abided by by everyone if they commit to them. But, at the same time, we have to be pragmatic and we have to look inward to control what we can within our own economies.”

Why don't we just cut the crap and say it? And the conclusion that I came to, this is an earlier book, The Stuff of Thought (subtitle is Language is a Window into Human Nature), is that direct speech generates common knowledge, and that common knowledge is the basis of our social relationships. Two people--if they're friends, if they're lovers, if they're transactional partners, if they're in a dominance hierarchy--all of those are equilibria in coordination games, and they're matters of common knowledge. In the case of friends, it's we're equal, we would do anything for each other, we're there for each other, and that's kind of the common knowledge that makes friends friends. Clip on direct speech and common knowledge from an interview with Robert Contofalsky (Robert Contofalsky) of R-Academy. -- My new book, When Everyone Knows That Everyone Knows . . .: Common Knowledge and the Mysteries of Money, Power, and Everyday Life is available here:

This was such a powerful interview. Mollie and Ryland Engelhart, who were once pillars of the vegan community, owning several restaurants and embracing that way of life, eventually realized that something felt amiss. Now they own a beautiful regenerative farm and understand the world differently. Mollie: "We as a society are just completely disconnected from nature on every single level. It's not just our food, but we used to be in nature, and we would be reflecting nature. That's what we're going to be mirroring, whatever we're in. And now we're reflecting social media, and we're reflecting all of this division. And we've gotten very, very righteous and self-righteous, and we're reflecting something that is not of God's design in so many different ways. Workshops are offered where people can come out and kill an animal. Afterward, the animal is made into food like goat curry or barbacoa, which the people then eat. This is very moving for people. Some people have never had this experience. It is important for people to connect with their food at that level." Mollie Engelhart

Labour's Bev Craig is the new Mayor for Greater Manchester Bev Craig - good luck! "I never believed as a girl growing up in a council estate that one day I would have the chance to stand for the place that I love, the place in this world that I'm proud to call home, and to offer my service to make our city region better." "Because Greater Manchester is special. We talk a lot about our history. We talk about the role that we've played from the birth of the Industrial Revolution to the trade union movement and Peterloo. From the suffragettes through to modern inventions and splitting the atom and the invention of the modern computer." "We've changed the world in many ways in the past, but Greater Manchester's potential lies in its future. And when Westminster walked away from us, when we were struggling as a deindustrialized city region, it was the people in this place that began the journey to rebuild." "And people often ask me, what is it that I feel makes Greater Manchester so special? And it's our people and our communities. And during this campaign, I've got to see that firsthand in every single corner of this city region." "In every pride, village, town, and both our cities, I find fantastic people doing incredible things against the odds every single day. Rejecting the politics of hate, but standing with their neighbors, looking out for each other." "The spirit of a place that their neighbors will give their final pound in their pocket to help their struggling friend do the right thing. But for too many people across our region, life is simply too hard. The generational belief that we had that if you work hard and you did the right thing, then your life would be better, and the life of your kids would be better, is something that many people just don't feel at the minute." "And that is the challenge that we in politics have to face up to. And it's why I set myself a simple test, and I make that commitment to you today, that every single decision I take as your mayor of Greater Manchester will pass the test of making your life better." "It will put more money in your pocket, and that was one of the reasons that my first pledge was around free buses for eleven to eighteen year olds to put five hundred quid in the pockets of families and give a message to our young people that they could be anything they wanted to be and go anywhere they wanted to go." "That everyone in our city region deserves a good quality home that they can afford in a safe neighborhood, and that everyone has to feel the benefits and successes of growth. You have to feel it in your pocket with good jobs in every corner of our city region, and you've got to see it on your high streets and when you walk out your front door, restoring pride into our, our high streets and town centers." "But it can't just be about building the basic fundamentals of a good life. It's creating a good life. It's letting people make those decisions where they plan with optimism and hope for the future. Things like spending time with friends and family with enough money in your pocket to do it, to plan for your holidays, to plan for your trips, to be able to think of the life you're creating for your kids." "And that's what we can do here in Greater Manchester. And the final thing I'll say is that this is about the city region that we want to be. This is the Greater Manchester that we can be. And that has to come with the belief that we can build things that make life better." "And I'll say this really plainly. To those that voted for me, thank you. To the Labour support that's in doubt, thank you. To those of you that lent me your vote, thank you. And for those of you that didn't vote for me, I will still be your mayor because I will defend this city region with every bone in my body, and I will fight for a better life for all of us." "So the hard work begins. I've done this with a promise and a plan, and my promise and commitment to you is that I will make this city region better, but I will work for everyone. I will be a greater mayor for everyone. And we have to heal." "We have to move away from divisive politics that try and pit neighbor against neighbor, and we'll work together. We'll do it together, we'll deliver it together, and we will build a Greater Manchester that works for all of us, that we're all proud of, where everyone feels welcome and everyone has a chance to succeed. Thank you."

Rep Anna Luna says the White House will likely allow permanent immunity for those disclosing knowledge of UFO programs “We do have a meeting set up at the White House. The White House is going to play ball on this. So as Rep Burlison and Burchett has stated they are following through on everything that we are sending them. So the next course of action and something that they are willing to entertain is if you are an intelligence official or have knowledge of locations of materials and in doing our due diligence and following up with the task force they are considering and I do believe that they are going to be providing immunity permanently so that people can't be hit with a violation of the espionage act. So again there's a lot of people that have a lot of information but it's really can we prove it and what information can we then bring forward to the American people.”

Austen Allred on Gauntlet AI: "We're very up front that we're 80 to 100 hours a week. If you think that that's a terrible idea, please don't come." "We're in Austin, all right? That's a sacrifice for a lot of people. If you don't think like coming to Austin for 100 hours a week and jamming on AI unpaid and just building stuff to figure out how much you can learn and hopefully getting a job on the other side... if you don't think that's awesome, that's totally fine. Please don't come." "There are some psychos out there that think that that's a good time. We wanna collect all those psychos. So come all, come all ye crazy people. And if that's not for you, that's okay." "There are companies that come to us and say, "Hey, we want, you know, 100 engineers that are going to sit in our division of printer drivers and sit there." And I'm like, "They would kill themselves." The people that are coming to Gauntlet would not do that. And so we turn companies down too." So we know who we are, we know what we stand for. You know, it helps that I'm one of those people that would've loved that. So is Ash Tilawat, and so is everybody else that works at Gauntlet. "So it's not hard for us to find other crazy people like ourselves. And that doesn't have to be you. That's okay." "We're not trying to empire build or solve all of humanity's greatest problems. We know that there's a limit to who we're addressing and what we're addressing at any given time." "So our goal is to be the best thing we can possibly be for that weird island of misfits. And for the companies that need a weird island of misfits, we'll be that all day long."

Take 3 minutes and watch this! RFK Jr. responds to the Trump assassination attempt with a call for national unity: “I think we all need to take a breath now and step back and see that this is the product of so much vigil and so much anger and that when we release that kind of anger into the universe, it inevitably comes back and reverberates with these kind of consequences. All all of us now have to start looking at each other and saying, ‘we're all Americans and we're better than this. This isn't the way that we want our country to look to our children and look to people around the world.’ We need to stop hating on each other. We need to stop telling other people in the world that the other guy is going to destroy the republic. We need to recognize we're all Americans. We all love our country. It's time now to pray for the president, pray for his family, for President Trump, and to start being kind to each other and to start being generous to each other and to resist all of the implications that we continue in this kind of vitriolic way. Let's have an election. Let's go forward as Americans. Let's love each other. Let's trust each other, and let's rebuild this country as a community.” “Somebody in my group showed me a text message, and then we turned on the television and we watched it as the story was evolving. I've been through this before with my own family. I was with my dad. He died in Los Angeles. I understand the implications that this has for our country, and probably as well as anybody does. I think my message to people is we need to all renounce violence. We need to renounce not just violence, but the hatred and vitriol, and we need to stop marginalizing each other. Let’s have a dialogue with each other about doing that and a conversation and a debate. When my uncle was ill in 1963, there was this kind of division again. There was this kind of hatred when my father was ill. It was in the midst of a time that was probably the most divisive in American history at that time since the American Civil War, and we're back into that kind of milieu today. We all need to take responsibility for it. When we pose something that is mean-spirited, that is condemnatory, that is poisonous towards somebody else, we're contributing to this atmosphere of violence.”

This former Nashville teacher of the year is publicly explaining to her board of Education why she has turned in her resignation. She is tired of dealing with parents who come in and demand that their children be given passing grades when they don’t deserve them, and haven’t earned them. She is tired of dealing with children that are disciplinary problems that have parents that refuse to deal with it, and they demand that the school overlook it to the detriment of every other student. And she’s tired of not having her superiors have her back. This is why if you can, you need to homeschool. Public schools are turning out a large group of children that will not be able to function, and prosper in society, but rather they will be an economic drag on everyone else

This is a combination of Steve Jobs’ (1) The storyteller is the most powerful person in the world and Jeff Bezos’ (2) Invest in things that won’t change: “A company is just a fiction You make some filing and you say "We're a corporation today even though we're just two people sitting around a couch and we have a few dollars in a bank account.” And if these fictions are intended to grow to tens of thousands of people it should be because there is some common purpose. There is something that in aggregate, the sum of the parts of all the people working together should be able to move something further than anyone alone could do. And the role of a leader is to go and assert how will we measure ourselves? If we are seeking to be our best and get better every day how should we think about that, and how can we understand our forward progress? I don't know what Ramp will look like exactly in 100 years but I think just as it was true 100 years ago people always wanted more out of every dollar and more out of every hour, I think people will absolutely still want that in 100 years —in whatever form that may take.”

ZELENSKYY: . Our wish is that in the coming weeks, all six clusters can be opened and pave the way for Ukraine’s future EU membership. “There will be a meeting of the European Council. We're very grateful to all the EU countries for opening the first cluster. This is a serious step forward for us. We won't stop. Our wish is that in the coming weeks, or months, — although, of course, we hope it will be weeks rather than months — we will be able to open the other five clusters. That way, all six clusters can be opened and pave the way for our future EU membership. We'll be working for this” Zelenskyy on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

Kate Harrison "I think a lot of Canadians would be surprised by, again, the depth of murders and killings of Iranian people at the heads of the Iranian regime and that this is a response to the plea of the Iranian people for a change and for democracy in that country." "And I think that, and I'm not putting this at the feet of CBC, but the news media ecosystem, in my view, in Canada... did not share those stories in a way that I think is sufficient to help again rationalize what we're seeing now." Katie Simpson "And I think there has been some analysis that I have seen is that perhaps Canada and other allies might be more comfortable supporting the US Effort in this moment because of what happened in January, because of the mass murder of protesters in the streets at the hands of the Iranian regime." Harrison "So this is an opportunity for Canada to look inward and really assess whether or not we're doing all we can to look at energy security for diplomacy's sake and getting our own exports to market."
