Wait I am confused. The IDC & Republicans were defeated in 2018. Democrats have unilaterally controlled housing policies for the last 7 years & since the progressive rent control reforms you mentioned in your video went into effect in 2019 rents in NYC have only gone up & housing shortage has gotten worse. Maybe just maybe the artificial rent controls NY's government has placed on housing in NYC has made the housing situation worse.🤔

Problem: not enough housing, rents go up (correct) Reason for problem: real estate is involved so … housing wasn’t built (??)

actually it is the opposite - those issue cause homelessness and other issue cause housing shortages. you are usually so wildly wrong in your understanding and solutions it is shocking.

Why would “big real estate” want to NOT build housing? That doesn’t make sense.

We have a shortage because we limit housing with stupid regulations & because we limit returns on investment. Price controls always lead to shortages. History proves this true. NYC & CA suck for housing because of our government strangles supply. TX and Fla are building friendly.

But you allow over priced skyscrapers to be built in Brooklyn. With 10% allocation to the housing lottery. On top of that the minimum salary for those are 100k. What have you done for actual affordable housing???
