Why should Illinois families pay higher electric bills so Big Tech can run data centers? They should pay for their own power. In fact, they should be helping lower your utility bill.

We can lead the world in technological development without making American families foot the bill. Data centers should pay their own way, not drive up electricity bills or strain local resources.

Data centers should pay for their own energy, their own water, their own infrastructure, their own land. We've seen what happens when states don't get this right. In Georgia, families are watching eminent domain used to hand over their land for data centers they never asked for. If Big Tech wants to build here, they play by our rules, or they don't come here at all.

Data centers are important for many reasons BUT consumers should NOT have to pay higher bills to facilitate the huge amounts of electricity they eat up. The richest companies on the planet are building these centers and they should bear the costs — not you.

We need to embrace innovation, but we have to do it in a way that doesn’t harm North Carolinians. Data centers should bring their own clean power and pay for their own energy, not leave families paying higher electricity bills because of data centers’ energy demands. I’m proud to have eliminated data center tax breaks for energy usage, and now we need to tackle the rest.

A lot of Americans can't even afford to pay for their own medical so why should they have to pay medical for illegals!

Americans should not only be able to pay their grocery bill or rent; they should also be able to afford that same family vacation for their kids that they had growing up. That’s what families deserve — and that’s what we should be delivering.

A local utility company in Illinois has plans to help lower residents electrical bills They will be requiring new data centers and planned data centers to sign 10 year contracts saying they will be responsible for paying for upgrade costs and electricity usage costs “That means any new data centers would be on the hook for power upgrades and any energy they plan to use, even if the data center ends up not getting built or if they don't use as much power as planned or if they close. So if they use the power that they're applying for, then they'll pay their fair share of the cost of maintaining and building our grid through their rates”

Here’s a (not-so) radical idea: your energy bills should not be paying for higher CEO salaries. We’re fighting for legislation to prohibit Minnesota’s utility companies from raising rates or using the money they make from energy bills to pay for C-suite salaries.

Democrats Have LOST THEIR MINDS Every Illegal Immigrant Should Be Provided An Attorney By American Tax Payers “So the American taxpayer should pay for the lawyers. Not only should they pay for the hospitals, not only should they pay for the schools, not only should they pay the SNAP benefits. They should also pay for the lawyers to allow them as people from outside the United States to be able to come into America”

DAVID SACKS: “President Trump has been really clear that consumers should not have to pay higher rates for electricity because of data centers … He said let the AI companies become power companies. Let them stand up their own power generation … with these new data centers.”

🚨 Could AI Data Centers Actually LOWER Your Power Bill? David Sacks: “We can get these AI companies to pay for upgrades to the grid. We can actually get them to produce more electricity… Residential rates go down for [the] community, not up.” “They pay for those teacher bonuses. They pay for decreases in property taxes.”

When it comes to data centers, Michigan should show the country how to do it right. That means: Data center companies, not Michigan families, pay for their own energy and grid upgrades – so rates don't go up. Data centers can't harm our water, air, or environment. Data centers pay their fair share in taxes to fund our schools, roads, and communities. Data centers are built with local union labor.

JB Pritzker said Illinois should "lead the nation" on data center growth. Now your electric bills are through the roof, Big Tech got the tax breaks, and your neighborhood got a giant humming box. When I'm governor, we're done rolling out the welcome mat for data centers.

.Pablo Manríquez: There’s a small movement in the Senate to call for a moratorium on AI data centers. King: I think the moratorium is a little strong. I do think that data centers either ought to bring their own power with them or pay the incremental costs that they impose on the grid. I don’t think ratepayers should be subsidizing the power that they use. So that’s where I am.

Senate Republicans are voting to pass Senator Jon Husted’s bill to protect American families from higher utility bills driven by data centers. America needs to beat China in the AI race, but hardworking families shouldn't be forced to foot the bill. Senate Republicans support the Ratepayer Protection Act to ensure these businesses pay their fair share for energy infrastructure.

🚨 NOW: VP JD Vance says data centers are NOT controversial as long as they produce their own energy "You should be putting power BACK into the grid — not taking it out. If that happens, data centers are not that controversial." "Build the power plants WITH the data centers. Probably 99% of the backlash to data centers came from areas where building it means higher utility and electricity for the people on the ground." "These companies should take advantage of federal deregulatory efforts we've undertaken." JD and Trump are 100% correct!
