Context is also super important. The jokes could’ve been mildly amusing - at a comedy club or a comedy special (and with better delivery). The fact that these jokes were written FOR a conservative rally automatically disqualifies them.

Yea I think I saw something that’s like dark humour is funny because it subverts our reality, so if we take that and think that like oh obviously people who have experienced what ever the joke is about, have a greater understanding of it, which makes their jokes
