Because they keep stuck in their head thinking about problem solving and innovation. Their brains are 10 steps in the future, so they can not talk about the present and share that.

Nice way of saying the people in charge are idiots, but this is definitely true.

Mechanisms inform decisions This is a value misalignment, the engineers are not the ones that need to update their priors? Esp if you're in a room making technical decisions? If you don't know what I'm talking about you shouldn't be in charge.

You take 12 minutes to tell techies: if (talking_to_nontechies) abstract_away_tech_details();

This applies to the teaching in kindergarten as well, the bar is low. Technical people should come for the money themself. This is the real problem, not a method of dumbing down your workbench. Expand the workbench so the money is on the table.

I would also argue that linear thinkers bluescreen when tech folks talk. Making high pattern thinkers translate to linear while removing the gargon is a mental tax in its own right. They resort to analogies, then disbelief this person should even be involved with decisions 🤣

so tech ppl are taxed 2x they need to be smart but also need to take care nontechnical ppl too skip the non techical ppl .. and just do risk reward on everything. because it seems to me the non technical ppl aren't doing much of the carrying at all anyone can do their job

That's an awful lot of view time to say: people making technical decisions would prefer others to do the work of understanding tradeoffs and deciding for them (while they take the credit).

Someone needs to turn this into a system prompt. As a CEO, this is exactly how I want my AI (and my engineers) talking to me 🙃

You think faster than you speak and right. More you are focused in depth on idea worse you will focus on getting it across.

Great Video! Always room to improve communication! But how you speak must be derived from others’ long-eared limits. This is a very easy video to watch!

False. If u can't explain it simply. U don't understand it

capacity for vulgarization separates smart people and people trying to sound smart with jargon their audience doesn't know

I struggle with this. Practice makes perfect, but I get stuck in "solving for future problems". This is where I'm in ave of folks that CAN do both, seamlessly. @clairevo as example. Amazing communicator + technical.
