Correct. I actually read the bill and it floors me that no one talks about the NGO’s, Ukraine $ for their border put in that bill, and CODIFYING Catch and Release. Good job, Byron.

Also normalized 1M a year, more extrajudicial asylum agents to fast track asylum/citizenship at the border and removed all cases from TX to DC. It would have made things worse.

Wrong! Here's why it failed! 1. Trump told you clowns it better fail or else... 2. See number 1

Exactly!!! We need to make sure everyone knows these facts when Kamala lies about Republicans taking the “bipartisan” bill to fix the border.

Catch and Release can't be "codified" because it isn't a thing. It is a term encompassing a range of immigration rules and regulations. Trump also performed "catch and release." No, it didn't "let in 1.8 million illegals." All existing immigration laws still apply. You're referring to automatic border shutdowns when border crossings are high. It provided lawyers to children so they could properly navigate the complex system of asylum. Only a monster would be offended by that. The bill strengthened asylum screening, making it harder to request, set up measures for rapid deportation of those who don't meet the requirements, and funded the asylum system to reduce the backlog of cases from years to months, which would have sped up the deportation of migrants already in the US. No work permits for "illegals." This reduced the time that a migrant who is here legally awaiting their asylum hearing had to wait to get a work permit, so they would be less of a drain on the US economy and instead boost the economy. The wall is pointless and expensive; of course, there was no funding for it. Republicans passed the foreign aid when it was separated from the border bill and still killed it on a second vote without the foreign aid. That was never a factor.

I can't help but think everyone is memory holing what actually happened. The Senate border bill, drafted by Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) and Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), never even made it to the Senate floor for a vote. Why? Senate Democrats themselves voted against bringing it up for debate, effectively killing the bill. Some progressives were concerned the bill would empower border enforcement too much. Were Senate Democrats swayed by Trump's comments criticizing the bill, claiming it would speed up illegal immigration through better migrant processing? Highly unlikely. Second, the House border bill, authored by Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) and Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), was more aggressive in its enforcement provisions. It passed in the House 219-213. But, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) refused to even bring H.R. 2 (Secure the Border Act of 2023) to a vote in the Senate, blocking its progress. In reality, Senate Democrats were responsible for blocking both bills. While Trump opposed the Sinema-Tillis bill, it faced significant opposition from within the Democratic ranks, particularly progressives. Trump had no control over Senate Democrats' decisions.

EVERY TIME you hear the moronic Democrats throw out the excuse that the Republicans would not approve the infamous border deal show this and repost this! Why the Senate Border Deal FAILED: 1–Codify Catch/Release 2–Let in 1.8M Illegals 3–Fund Sanctuary Cities 4–Fund NGOs Moving Illegals 5–Lawyers to Illegals 6–Work Permits to Illegals 7–Nothing to Deport Illegals 8–No Immediate Wall Funds 9–Weak Asylum Screening 10–$60B to Ukraine Once again, it would NOT have stopped the influx of ILLEGAL ALIENS!!! AND sent MORE MONEY to the BIDEN laundry that is UKRAINE!!!!

Why are congressional approved funding at DHS , energy Dept etc being rerouted to illegals ???

It failed because convicted felon donOLD needed something to run on.

1. Would've ended catch and release. 2. Allowed no one to enter the United States illegally. 3. Sanctuary cities aren't funded by a border security bill. 4. Does not fund to NGO's moving undocumented migrants. The bill does not support anything having to do with undocumented migrants 5. Lawyers are already provided for undocumented migrant seeking asylum. This would increase the resources to speed the process up from years to months. 6. It would provide work permits for migrants not anyone in the country illegally because they wouldn't be allowed into the country. 7. Although this administration is already deporting undocumented migrants at a greater rate than the last the border security bill would provide resources to make the process quicker and more efficient. 8. Walls don't work and they are a waste of money. 9. Improved asylum screening. 10. 90% of the money appropriate to Ukraine goes to US companies to manufacture, weapons, provide training, fund humanitarian support that originates in the United States. This create US jobs, feed US families, that fuel the economy, all while doing the right thing. And the $60 billion was appropriate without the border security bill. So Ukraine appropriations went through and the border is less secure because the Republicans are playing political games instead of trying to solve the problems. Lying to the American people doesn't make you and your party any less inept
