If you understand the nomenclature used in this video, then you don't need the video explaining what happened

Thanks for the detailed explanation Dave. Perfect example of the value of a truly distributed internet protocol like @holochain. Open source & free, Local first and Peer to peer.

Great synopsis, thanks for wearing your avatar's shirt.

Sunday is Wash Day, today is Monday :-)

“Resilience you don’t practice, is resilience you don’t have.” - very nice.

I had SO MANY DNS errors yesterday evening (3-6 hours before the start time noted here), on two different internet providers. It was really staggering. I'm left wondering if this is from the same event or a related one.

My Samsung smart vacuum knew before I was even able to get my first nagios alert.

Thank you for the master class !

Wow - that was detailed. Your knowledge is impressive.

What a great video. Kudos.

Hmmm... I surprised if this was only a US-EAST-1 why was Amazon impacted as well ? According to their status, They are still having issues as of 5:30 CST 10/20/2025 on their app

My favorite part was you trying not to laugh at your own jokes.

Good video however I know there are services that are still down. The college my son attends uses AWS and he still can’t get on to complete his homework.

Bro is guessing.

great video. glad I found it , followed ya

Why does your teleprompter software need to be in the cloud?

it was DNS.. it was a nightmare for MSP yesterday Dave.. retailer were charging transactions but aws couldn't give result codes back to our endpoints because dns .. there will be a lawsuit.

Indians. Indians everywhere

Great explanation

In the simplest terms allowing other things to take up the slack is going to be a security issue in the future because broadly you don't want things to individually fail to intake everything out but on the other hand you don't want to give permission to liberally to everything

@grok can you please break down the core components of his explanation for review and analysis?

actually it was just unplugged

16 minutes? I thought attention span with new generations was in the toilet.

I love Dave Plummer!!

Great explanation. I sometimes help customers with their Disaster Recovery planning, in regards to our product. Some customers plan this better than others and most actually do the kind of tests you mentioned.

But what was the dns issue?

Awesome post and some great recommendation nuggets. Is that a classic RE20 (now available in black) or RE320 mic?

is "retired" supposed to add credibility by asserting that they can't fire him for speaking the truth?

id prefer text. (my guess was patches for the F5 BIg-IP etc Breach)

I might have to replay that a few times until it makes sense. Good video though.
