I disagree. I think they WERE those things but not any longer. I think multiple wars killed enough of their best and bravest that what remains in the gene pool can never be what they once were. It's genetic selection. As an example. I have a small water feature in my backyard that attracts frogs. The frogs where I live are EXTREMELY loud. I've killed every loud frog I can find for the past 4 years and this year I think we caught 12-15 loud frogs total. The rest of the same species are quiet frogs. The quiet frogs live because they don't bother me. I have selected for the trait of being quiet. The wars have selected softer gentler men who were less likely to out themselves in extreme danger. They were allowed to remain in the gene pool and breed. Now, seemingly, all you have is quite soft brits who are allowing their women and children to be brutalized. This has been going on for 20 years at this point. They are a conquered race of people on an island that can't defend its coastlines or don't even seem to want to. The British were a great warrior culture once long ago. Selection changed that.

By extension Aussies as well.
