For those that are confused, low PSI is better for offroad since there is more of a surfsce area contacting the ground, minimising slippages and getting better traction However specialised tyres are usually utilized that ensure that no sharp object punctures the tyre so dont try

Ok, so I know the difference that tire pressure makes, but which one is better???

For the love of God psi doesn’t matter. Put an actual Off-Road suspension on your car instead of deflating your tires.

Never ever go under 5psi folks... ever!

this doesn’t explain shit, are you saying having a flat tyre is better???

I know some already answered, but people tend to let a little air out of their tires before going offroading. It provides more contact area, which increases friction/grip. Not a whole lot though, this is too much and you run the risk of messing up your tires if you do too much.

You took the air out of this argument

Rolling on tires with zero psi is the best way to ruin good tires

Tire pressure can make or break your off-road run. Lower PSI = bigger footprint, more grip, smoother ride. It helps tires flex over rocks, float on sand, and dig into mud. Too high? You’ll bounce, slip, or sink. Too low? Risk rim damage. The sweet spot = control + safety.

Note to self: don't go off road.

Why not show the bead popping and the tire going to 0 psi? As that's the risk under 20psi offroad.

When u go on sand its very low like 10 the tires flatten way out wide giving u more surface of course this also lowers your frame. They often have air pumps at the entry/exit points or u need to bring your own

That is how you rupture a sidewall and bend your rim.

This example shows absolutely nothing You can drive over this beam with any shown pressure Tyres should be set to low pressure for situations where you CANNNOT drive with high pressure

Thanks! Was planning on going 0 PSI the next time I’m driving off-road 👍🏼

20psi is what I use for driving on beaches.

20 psi looks like a decent compromise to me 🤔

Didn't look too bad until it got to showing 0 PSI with an inflated tyre, that should have been a flat tyre. If that was so badly wrong the rest is probably sketchy too.

would’ve been better served showing traction and surface area over sand

The only time this really matters is in sandy environments. Lower the pressure to get more contact with the sand.

I run about 15 on my side by sides. Seems like a happy place for most stuff.

MOST 4x4 tyres are 2 ply sidewalls, drop your pressures you balloon your tyres exposing sidewalls to rocks. Fit 4 ply sidewalls to minimise rock exposures. Sand….. 10psi is good.
