- Tulunad is the 2nd largest revenue-generating region in Karnataka with its best footprint in Banking, Education, Medical services, fisheries, Agro Products, Tourism, Temples, Cultural sites etc. with Rail, Air & Port connectivity for exports & imports.

For Tulunad state no popular movement(Telangana type) is there on ground. Linguistically too diverse & districts are scattered between two states. Half of Udupi/Kasargod district won't be part of it. At max it can aim for Union territory status(Diu Daman , Pondicherry type).

The demand for a separate Tulunad State is being championed by S.U. Paniyadi, who established the Tulu Maha Sabha, which is celebrating its centenary this year. Just because the demand from the Tulu community is expressed peacefully does not make it any less legitimate. In contrast, the movement for Telangana was marked by student violence instigated by Osmania University. Many states have been formed through peaceful means, including Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, and Chhattisgarh, among others.

- Tulunad tax revenue share is not spent back to the region, instead it’s mostly spent on Bangalore & OMR region development. Tulunad development is mostly with private entrepreneurs, least by govt.

According to the 2011 Census, 48.57% of Dakshina Kannada’s population speaks Tulu, though many also speak Kannada. The share of residents who speak only Tulu is likely much smaller.

I am from kudla base , but seperate state has no meaning . At this rate we will have states based on languages. Better a bill which recognises tulu as a regional minority language n add to the states official language.

Sri Amit Shah Ji Having worked with you for sometime in Central Govt, I can vouchsafe that out of all the top leaders in the Central Govt you are the most Hindu-minded. I have publicly congratulated you for your bold actions on Article 370 & CAA. Yet, in the last 9+ years of BJP rule in the Centre, public celebration of Hindu festivals are being banned and criminalised directly or by resorting to various subterfuges including through court orders. What kind of #Hindutva is this Sir, that your Governments at Centre and in States violate with impunity Article 25 of Constitution which gives fundamental right of freedom to profess and practice religion by public celebration of Hindu festivals by banning them on the specious ground of public order? Is that action of denial of fundamental right of Hindus on that spurious ground, not an admission of the utter failure and incompetence of your BJP Central and State Governments to maintain public order? In 1776 there was 1 Constitutional Republic in the world, 2-7 Republics - most of which were small aristocracies, 1 Constitution, England had a Bill of Rights, and a few other countries with decent legal frameworks. Today there are 159 Republics in the world, over 190 of them have Constitutions, & over 190 have a Bill Of Rights. This is the result of 1776, which not only lit the fire of liberty in the hearts of Americans, but in people all over the world - a world which eagerly followed America. There is an agenda to separate the American nation from its roots, and those in power are doing that by teaching school children that the founding fathers were “oppressors,” but with historical context, it is undeniable that in reality, they were the greatest champions of liberty in human history. Also shout out to the Iroquois, and the great law of peace - which served as a constitution, but was not written down.

A Semiconductor company was planning to invest in Karnataka. They were told by the Union Govt that if they want incentives, they shouldn't invest in 'Enemy States' according to a Karnataka Minister. Usually 'Enemy States' is a term used for enemy countries, but now it is used to address non-BJP ruled states. Modi Govt is weaponizing Central Schemes to promote investments to Gujarat and only Gujarat! Union Govt is supposed to be impartial, but even Maharashtra which is a BJP ruled state is also considered an enemy state. We are not against Gujarat's development. But India is not just Gujarat and Gujarat is not entire India. When a new Govt comes in the centre and if all projects are taking to another state, how will people of Gujarat feel? It is the same feeling that rest of India is having. States like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana have invested in technology, talent and created an ecosystem in semiconductor and other technology area over several decades. But they are declared as enemy states just for one man's ego. This will not end well. A group of twenty women turned their backs on coalition speakers at Waitangi. When asked why, their spokeswoman blamed the coalition govt for the number of Maori children in state care, and Maori men in prison. She says she is in a fight but the origin and the objectives of the fight were left unclear. Really? A fight? The govt of New Zealand has pretty much surrendered to every demand ever made by Maori. They are showered with grants and special allowances and treaty settlements that cost the taxpayer billions. There is a plethora of govt depts, also costing the taxpayer billions, that exist specifically to deal with perceived Maori problems. They have special seats in our democracy that give them far more rights than any other NZ voter. Its almost to the stage where every other NZer is enslaved to the generous upkeep of Maori. Still, after all of this, the wahine says there is so much to cry and so much to be angry about. If only we had people in govt, media and academia who would stand up to this separatist Marxist country splitting nonsense. A prominent Kannada journalist has torn into the government's move to ban Hindi, and raises some straightforward, hard hitting questions: 1) Do all those who are opposing Hindi actually have their own children studying in the state syllabus, so that this policy would apply to their kids? 2) By what right do you get to dictate what our kids should learn? Now, please allow me to add a few questions of my own. 1) Why isn’t the government banning Urdu schools and Madrasas funded by Kannadiga taxpayers? Aren’t Muslims Kannadigas too? If not, why are they living off our taxes? If yes, why aren’t they required to learn to read and write Kannada? 2) If this is about minority rights to preserve their language, why aren’t there as many Tulu or Kodava schools as there are Urdu schools? 3) Even by the definition of a minority, aren’t Hindi speaking people in Karnataka also a linguistic minority? This is exactly why subjects like Education, Agriculture, and Health should be moved to the Central List. Let the state cabinets enjoy watching IPL matches from the VIP lounge instead of meddling in critical sectors.

It is a great honour for #Odisha and its people that the President of India, hailing from our State addressed the Odisha Legislative Assembly. We are all proud that, the daughter of this land is the President of the country. It is even more proud that she started her political career from this Odisha Legislative Assembly twenty-five years ago, and today she has increased the glory of this land by becoming the President of the country. Unity in diversity is the beauty of our nation. Different languages, lifestyles, customs, cultures and thoughts have contributed immensely to strengthen the Indian polity. After Independence integration of princely states was a great political challenge. The accession of princely states of India first took place in Odisha with Nilagiri and others joining on 14th November 1947 and thus Odisha had provided leadership to the rest of India to unite and consolidate Indian nationhood. It is befitting to the occasion to recall the contribution of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das for creating a separate province of Odisha, first time in India on the basis of language. He achieved this historic goal along with other national leaders, by adopting constitutional methods. As the President of this great country, you ‘preserve, protect and defend’ the Constitution of India, the 75th anniversary of which was celebrated just recently. The entire country looks upon you, President Madam, for inspiration and guidance in preserving the very soul of India. As you are aware, Odisha has scripted history in myriad fields in the last couple of decades. In disaster management, food production, women’s empowerment, poverty alleviation, infrastructure development, transformation in health and educational spheres and creation of a climate of industrial growth, Odisha is indeed an inspiring story. All credit for such phenomenal growth has been possible because of the unstinting support and blessings of the people of Odisha. Our disaster management policy has become a role model for the entire country and Odisha also got international recognition for its good work in disaster management. Odisha, with its rich natural resources and skilled workforce, has great potential for growth. We should all strive to ensure Odisha scales new heights of glory. On behalf of the opposition parties in the Odisha Legislative Assembly, extend a hearty welcome to you.

None of the people in the state, whether Kukis or Meiteis, the state has not been able to provide it. Isn't it all the fundamental right in our constitution?.. In our Constitution, all the rights which are guaranteed are an obligation of the state. The state must defend all those rights. The state has not done that..."

Statistics Finland reports that by the end of 2024, there were 610.000 people living in the country whose first language was something other than Finnish, Swedish or the indigenous Sámi languages. The country only has a population of 5.5 million and used to be one of the most ethnically homogenous countries in the world. Nearly one-fifth of the population in the southern region of Uusimaa is now of foreign background, according to the agency. Uusimaa is home to the capital region, including the cities of Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa. "Arabic is already approaching Estonian as the second-most common foreign language in Finland. The number of Arabic speakers has almost tripled compared to 2014," says Markus Rapo from Statistics Finland. One of the large new groups of migrants are Somalis. Only 2500 Somalis lived in Finland 25 years ago. Today that figure is 30 000. Finland elected a new government in 2023, with the Finns Party becoming the second-largest party of the coalition government. Their goal is to drastically limit non-European migration and increase the incentives for remigration of migrants who have failed to integrate into Finnish society.

BJP had put special category status in their manifesto as a promise to the people of #Odisha, however, this promise has not been considered for Odisha, whereas special packages, allocating crores of funds have been announced for Andhra Pradesh and Bihar in #Budget2024. Along with this, the demand of Odisha for revision of coal royalty, which has been pending for years with the central government has been rejected, because of which the state will lose thousands of crores of revenue every year. Lots of big promises in different sectors were made to the people of Odisha during the election campaign especially on agriculture, MSME and industry. There is no mention of any promise being fulfilled in this #Budget2024. This is a complete neglect of Odisha and her people. We all know that Odisha faces a number of natural disasters every year, including floods. We had requested for a special package for disaster management. While, similar requests of other states have been considered and they have been granted Special packages for flood protection, the genuine demand of Odisha on disaster management has not been considered. So on both counts whether it is special package or revision of coal royalty, Odisha continues to be neglected by the NDA. Today, the most serious issue being faced by the common public is inflation/price rise, and unemployment. This budget does not have any considerable intervention to address these two major issues. We have been fighting for Justice in the Polavaram issue. Allocating more and more funds for Polavaram without sorting out the genuine grievances of Odisha shows impartiality against Odisha. The NDA government has been at the Centre for more than 10 years now and every budget talks of focus on Eastern India, including Odisha. There has been nothing substantial for Odisha over the years, and this budget has also been a disappointment for us, however, we shall wait for the details. I’m happy to see there is a focus on Tourism for Odisha. I hope it is substantial, and we shall wait for the details to come out. I would say that, along with the people of Odisha, I feel disappointed at the continued neglect of Odisha while the state contributes so much to the country. Leaders of BJP had given many tall promises during poll. But there is nothing for Odisha and for its people.

There was no need for this Bill to be linked with the delimitation exercise. Knowing fully well that if 2011's census or latest census becomes the basis for delimitation, southern India will lose out heavily. Modi Govt introduced this Bill, which they knew very well, will not be able to get the 2/3rd majority that is required for a Constitutional amendment. Therefore, we as BRS, certainly express our deep concern and deep protest with respect to stifling the voice of southern India in the Parliament. We request and demand the Union Govt to fulfill the promise given to the women of this country because the Bill was already passed in 2023 with respect to women's reservation. If you have to do it, you can do with the 543 at present. All that we would like to tell you is make sure that the 24% seats that the south of India today has in the Parliament is kept intact. If that is not kept intact, this will lead to severe protest and resentment from the people of south India who have contributed to this nation in a big way..."
