And then there is FFVII with no seath, just a magnet on the back of the uniform.

What if a 50 cal shoot your blade out?

Maybe he’s got a slit at the top of the scabbard. And a mechanism, of some sort, locks the sword in place inside the scabbard.

Back scabbards are generally reserved for long journeys, as its easier to carry something on your back than your waist. There are some back scabbards that have gaps in the fromt or sides that make unsheathint the sword a lot easier, just needing to pull slightlt before being free

There’s a lot of cheating with this dude

Years ago in engineering class I designs a scabbard that had a side that operated like a saloon door allowing for the clipping animation type of drawing and sheathing. It was operated with small springs that would snap the side back into place when the sword went in or out.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why Sakurai is the GOAT. The attention to detail in Smash Bros. is absolutely staggering.

Have to remember it's a magical sword so logic and physics doesn't matter in this situation.

@shadiversity addressed this and made a back scabbard that DOES work

The first time I actually say Zack talk about something related about Nintendo

This is why shisuis blade makes the most sense

Link should carry his blade like Ryu Hayabusa.

In my headcannon, I like to think that the scabbard has an opening on its sides, so that the sword is never "pulled" directly but moved slightly to the left/right. I hope this explanation makes sense

This is why most real swordsmen have the sheath on their hip instead of their back

There’s a guy who actually made a wooden scabbard ment to go on your back. Shad I think is his name.

I never could understand how someone can pull their sword out when they carry it on their back.

You know, that in some animations, the blade shrinks. It is a magical sword so anything is possible with it.

Gerald could do that easily

Sword

So should the holster of the sword be hanging on his side then?

Tbf, Link carries like 50 weapons at a time, so this is hardly the craziest thing he does 😂

Switching to your sidearm is faster than drawing your blade

this is basically the same short that ign cover a year ago

sakurai on zack d films

You can pull the sword with scabbard over your shoulder to get your sword out, Same with putting it away, using the sword to pull the scabbard over your shoulder, and angled downward for more leverage and space to sheath your sword

well for cosplay use you could purposefully leave a cut in the fabric holding the sword so that you can easily slide it through quickly

We'll see what the live-action Zelda movie is like and how he draws his sword

@SashaDebugger89

The sword would need to be a short length than his back to work. But this is fantasy we're talking about, so anything goes.

Maybe you should’ve tried cosplaying as somebody who doesn’t have to carry a sword on their back

i like to think that part of the top half of scabbard is open on the side :)

Creo que Ghost of Yotei a sido el unico juego reciente que se preocupa de ese detalle
