Why was Tanjiro not named Hashira after this!

Another inconsistency about the series, it could have more plot but it started rushing the story a lot. He could've been a great replacement for Rengoku at that time

Because demon slayer is a mediocre story at best and they don't expand on the world building beyond common stuff but eh fights and actions are good and that's the main problem with anime today is too much focus on animation quality instead of story quality

I imagine there’s a lot of executive work that goes into naming someone a Hashira and they were more occupied with the fight against Muzan ramping up, by the time they’d have time to do the paperwork Muzan was defeated and the demon slayer corps were disbanded anyway

Realistic speaking, before the Hashira training arc, Tanjiro was already Hashira level That being said, he lacks experience and they didn't had time to promote him Also you need to achieve the highest normal rank first

It was too early for Tanjiro. His techniques weren’t developed enough, and he only fought Hantengu’s weaker split bodies. Gyokko or focused body Hantengu would’ve one-shot him. Even vs Gyutaro again, he’d still lose. Tanjiro only reaches Hashira level in the final arc.

He still had a lot to learn ...and the hashira knew this...they can easily tell ones grasp of the fundamentals and technique...tanjiro kept switching from water breathing to fire breathing,and when he did so,he appeared to be unsure of which path to choose..

He didn't defeat the demon

Even so, he defeated many throughout the series🫴

Well what’s the point? They were planning on ending it all anyway, also they mentioned and acknowledged that he indeed is Hashira’s level in the infinity castle

Mitsuri and Muichiro was there. It doesn't count since Muichiro defeated the Upper 5, and Mitsuri helped Tanjiro defeat Upper 4. Plus, it was said he had to defeat a member of the 12 Kizuki on his own, without help if I'm not mistaken.

Because he’s not yet mastered his own sun technique He go lucky a few times but hashira is supposed to be a master on their own techniques

Its not just about fighting prowess, because at the arc just before infinity castle, he was weaker than any single Hashira there, yet. Maybe after the full training camp they did he'd place, but he was relying on fundamentals for every fight up until recently

the hashira title isnt about being strong in one fight its about surviving every single one and carrying that weight for years. tanjiro was still learning how to carry it

Requirements to be a hashira: 1) single-handedly kill a demon moon or kill 50 demons (probably also single-handedly)
