This is not entirely true. Many successful people know other people and have the right connections. Many broke people can't even call someone to get a basic job. It depends, some fields require you to be alone, some need connections.

I feel like you just have to find a balance because what I experienced is that isolation is ok at first, but down the line, it can feel lonely, so the best I did was to make time for meaningful connections while still having certain boundaries
