Why would they switch on their phone while the plane is landing ???

As someone who actually worked in this field and tested cellphones for interference with both aircraft navigation and communication equipment I can assure you that they can, in fact, interfere with aircraft communication equipment which is highly important all the way up until the aircraft is parked and shut down. Simply follow instructions and, truly, if it were up to me, they would be required to be in that position we had all phones made required to have on them, the "Airplane Mode" from prior to embarking on the aircraft until debarking. The Airplane Mode is to ensure the phone does not transmit any signals that can interfere with the aircrafts navigation or communication equipment. This should be the Initial Part of the Flight Attendants briefing; all phones to the Airplane Mode at this time and until we are safely at the gate at our destination...no exceptions. If you need to make a call, we have in-flight phones for your use.

God bless you for this

@Cinema_vault7 Why do people have to be so argumentative,, just follow the rules

Simple as this!!! God bless you

@Cinema_vault7 It's an outdated regulation new phones.Don't mess with navigation

Exactly what I'm saying

@Cinema_vault7 Was I the only one hoping the plane would crash?

Tf, yes, it's just you 😂

@Cinema_vault7

@Cinema_vault7 She is standing walking around at 550kph cus it is her duty and she is insured by her company to do her job.

Exactly why she told the man to put off his phone till they land safely

@Cinema_vault7 @hippoace8 it is scientifically proven that celpphones pose zero risk to planes and their technology. it has been debunked that you could ever effectively disrupt or even casue a crash of a plane with your cellphone.

@hippoace8 This scene proves otherwise but if that's the case I think it's better and safer

@Cinema_vault7 @hippoace8 it's a simple google search. cellphones aren't strong enough to affect a plane to the point of causing a crash. even the faa has admitted this.

@hippoace8 Point proven 🎉

@Cinema_vault7 @hippoace8 what point? it specifically says no it can't cause a plane crash and signal interference isn't gonna cause a crash. all it does it affect the radio or altimeter. can that cause a crash? no.

@hippoace8 But then again, it is a general rule to switch off phones bfr landing so it doesn't disrupt the pilots static and all

@Cinema_vault7 Why not? It doesn’t do anything.

It disrupted their landing process though.

@Cinema_vault7 They wouldn’t allow phones on flights if it interfered with anything.

@Cinema_vault7 You think if cell phones could cause any danger on flights they would just let you have them and hope you follow the rules? 😂. Why are people so dumb?

@Cinema_vault7 This show was nothing but snarky smug self righteous douchebaggery.

@Cinema_vault7 It can interfere with the navigation systems if the planes shielding is damaged or not put back properly after maintenance The airlines/airports are just being careful because mobile devices have interfered with the air to ground navigation systems in the past

Which means turning on phone before landing is dangerous yes?

@Cinema_vault7 Yes

I still don't understand why others are saying it isn't dangerous fr

@Cinema_vault7 If the plane is in perfect working order & all the shielding on the plane is in place there isn't an issue with mobile device onboard If there is even a single pinhole or missed screw within the planes shielding it will cause interference with the computers onboard

And with this, you won't know wether there's any issue or an untight screw in the plane, so in order to prevent it you just follow the rule

@Cinema_vault7 exactly

@Cinema_vault7 That’s so me honestly I never turned mine off I hope we crash

Are u fr? 😂

@Cinema_vault7 Dead serious

@Cinema_vault7 The actual regulatory source is: the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), which has authority under the FAA Modernization and Reform Act and broader aviation safety statutes to regulate in-cabin electronics. Airlines and the FAA issue operational rules,

@Cinema_vault7 not a standalone “turn off your phone” law.

@Cinema_vault7 Because it is some serious al dreamed up by some fast talking Jew. Whose idea not job seems to be to make sleep ck serials with fast talking smartasses who you don’t find in the real world. The Sorkins and their ilk.

@Cinema_vault7 rules are rules, f u

Exactly, follow the rules!

@Cinema_vault7 For completeness: ‘phones do not interfere with normal navigation. They rarely can with blind landing equipment. In Fog or Snow your pilot may well make an extra announcement telling you to keep them off. That one is important.

@Cinema_vault7 @grok, what is the movie title?

@Cinema_vault7 It's weird how people believe all that bullshit because all the critical systems are shielded and besides before the plane gets high enough in the air it's bathed in millions of cell phone signals and it doesn't do anything to the plane

@Cinema_vault7 Classic Sorkin drama passengers acting like entitled kids while the FA tries to keep order. Phone interference is mostly an old myth (modern planes are shielded and studies show negligible risk), but the real point is: stay seated and focused during taxi/landing for safety.

@Cinema_vault7 They found cell phones might interfere with altitude radar on older aircraft. Most of which are out of service in the states. At altitude the reason to keep them off is to help the phone grid. People on pjs don’t bother

@Cinema_vault7 @grok Series or episode name?

@Cinema_vault7 So she wants to blindly follow the flight attendant who says to put your device on airplane mode but not listen to the flight attendant when she says to stay seated?

@Cinema_vault7 yaaa that's not way... The most accidents happen during take of and landing.. so you need to be secured in the seats and be able to hear and follow instructions.. they are not going to say that because a lot of people are already scared of flying..

@Cinema_vault7 airlines literally sell u wifi on flights to be on ur phone or tablet during flying it dont do shit

@Cinema_vault7 You can't walk around while the plane is taxiing because it's FAR more likely to collide with another plane or vehicle than it is to hit anything while in the air.

@Cinema_vault7 I leave my phone on the whole time

@Cinema_vault7 I never turn my phone off

@Cinema_vault7 This is the one in which they reported on the death of bin laden…the newsroom was great….

Oh really? Wow

@Cinema_vault7 Is that not el’s dad in stranger things

@Cinema_vault7 I never turn my phone off. It is a BS way for flight crew to control our actions. “Seat-back in an upright and locked position”—- like that matters. Meal trays- fine, they could be in the way. We are .🐑

@Cinema_vault7 using a phone does not affect the plan in any way

@Cinema_vault7 I hated this show.

Why though?

@Cinema_vault7 Because the entire show is filled with unrealistic, condescending dialogue, as depicted in this clip.

@Cinema_vault7 You must be stupid.

@Cinema_vault7 As someone who has flown and maintained aircraft. New phones and updated aircraft have proper shielding. I will say this very clearly. It DOES NOT interfere with navigation or communications. They even wanted to lift the ban in 2006 but just decided to keep it. It was a myth

@Cinema_vault7 She told him, we haven't touched the ground
