WIKIPEDIA WEAPONISED AGAINST AFRICAN STREAM Search for ‘African Stream’ on Wikipedia. Notice how the first line immediately alleges that our pan-African, anti-imperialist outlet is a Kremlin proxy? As far back as July, The Grayzone’s Max Blumenthal explained that the barrage of media attacks on African Stream from outlets such...

The media won’t tell you, and woke liberals are clueless: Trump’s roaring comeback is driven by everyday Americans fed up with soaring bills, not obsessed about a dozen genders or the right to a transgender bathroom. #AbookThatChangesEverything #TrumpWon

Wikipedia is part of the Hegemon cultural appropriation and colonization, just a look at any Western country wiki page makes it pretty clear.

Another reason why Africans must remain neutral in western "conflicts" of interest. In the end, no matter how justified it might appear, there is no conflict in their disdain/disregard of Africa(ns) More reason why I would never contribute a dime to keep that platform afloat.

U.K FOREIGN OFFICE TARGETS AFRICAN STREAM A trove of confidential documents, e-mails and WhatsApp conversations has unveiled a ploy by the British Foreign Office to run a smear campaign against African Stream. The Centre for Information Resilience (CIR) is at the centre of the scheme, the latest by Western governments opposed to our independent and African-centred reporting. According to the documents, CIR is paying African journalists to write articles claiming that African Stream is a Russian-funded propaganda outlet - a claim not backed by any evidence other than similar accusations by the US government. However, as African Stream's editor-in-chief, Ahmed Kaballo, explains in this video, plenty of evidence indicates that CIR is firmly connected to the British government and other Western intelligence establishments. The outfit, masquerading as an 'independent counter-disinformation' organisation, has not only received significant amounts of funding from the UK Foreign Office, USAID and the Australian Foreign Ministry, but most of its senior staff have worked with the aforementioned governments' intelligence wings, including its two directors Ross Burley and Adam Rutland, who are 'former' Foreign Office employees. Knowing who funds the CIR makes it clear why they are coming after us and accusing us of being Russia-affiliated. Our reporting, which exposes the atrocities committed by the imperialist powers against our people, has rubbed them the wrong way. This attack is not the first; we know it won't be the last. But when the next one comes, it will also find us on our feet, not our knees. No number of assaults by imperialism's attack dogs will deter us from our duties as pan-African, anti-imperialist journalists.

AFRICANS WORLDWIDE RAISE VOICES FOR AFRICAN STREAM The struggle against censorship and in defence of independent media that serves the interests of the African majority has become a vital part of the Pan-Africanist struggle today. With tech giants YouTube, Meta (parent company of Facebook, Instagram and Threads), Stripe, TikTok and Google banning African Stream, Africans are doing whatever it takes to continue watching our video reports and fighting for our right to continue to inform the public. In this video, African Stream journalist Inemesit Richardson speaks to Africans from the US, Kenya and Ghana about why they continue to support African Stream despite harsh accusations meted out by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who said African Stream showcases ‘Kremlin propagandists’ and is ‘secretly run’ by Russian-state TV network RT. But where was his proof for these baseless accusations? When it comes to the world's leading superpower, they can enforce censorship and smear us without ever needing to provide any evidence. And do the majority of Africans buy into this claim? According to the Africans we interviewed (on X: tunde of Black Alliance for Peace, Manolo De Los Santos of The People's Forum, Booker Ngesa Omole ☭ of Communist Party Marxist CPM - Kenya, Blaise D.K Tulo of Socialist Movement of Ghana - (SMG)), African Stream represents the perspective of the oppressed, the exploited, and above all, the African working-class. If you agree with what they had to say or are curious about learning more, you can still follow African Stream on X, Telegram, Rumble, Odysee and Patreon.

HOW WEST BUYS AFRICAN JOURNALISTS EXPOSED! A leaked document titled the 'Adaptive Country Plan Research' - obtained by West Africa Weekly's David Hundeyin - reveals the extent of the on-going information war in Africa. In this clip, Hundeyin details how African journalists are used by NGOs to smear anti-imperialist individuals such as himself, as well as platforms like African Stream. The document was assembled by the Centre for Information Resilience (CIR) and circulated to 10 Nigerian journalist who took part in a private retreat at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, Ghana. In it, unfounded claims by former US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken - that African Stream is a Russian propaganda outfit - are regurgitated, citing sources that fail to produce any evidence. To ‘demonstrate’ that we are doing the Kremlin’s bidding, the document points, for example, to a story we did on the 1995 Nigerian government’s execution of the ‘Ogoni 9’ - environmental activists who opposed the destruction of the Ogoni people and their lands by large conglomerates such as British oil-and-gas company Shell. The absurd logic here seems to be that highlighting Western-backed corporate crimes against Africans is now pro-Russian! CIR, as Hundeyin mentions, is a London-based NGO founded by Adam Rutland and Ross Burley, who are both former employees of the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). It claims to be independent but is funded by the FCDO and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). USAID has recently come under scrutiny, following President Donald Trump's funding freeze. The organisation has been accused of being a tool of US foreign policy, dressed up as humanitarian efforts. On 4 February, the Columbia Journalism Review reported that over 6,000 journalists in some 30 countries were USAID funded. Video credit: David Hundeyin (X)

CHRONOLOGY OF ATTACKS ON AFRICAN STREAM For the last three years, African Stream has done what it was created for: fearlessly expose the crimes of imperialism against our people on the continent and in the diaspora. From Cape to Cairo, Haiti to the U.S, we have brought to light issues that many influential people in Western capitals would rather keep under the carpet. For this, we have been made to pay a high price, a price that has resulted in us closing shop for good. When we started the project, we were not naive. We knew that our work would attract the wrath of the empire and its local cronies. However, it was work that had to be done. We could not let fear prevail. To bring us down, they had to resort to the centuries-old script that portrays any African who stands up against oppression as being sponsored by some third force out there. To this end, the U.S. government and its allied entities have accused us of being a Russian propaganda outlet, but without any evidence. Despite our accusers failing to substantiate their claims, social media giants took down our accounts without asking the U.S. government to provide any evidence to back their allegations. Well, we guess that the U.S. is so trustworthy that the world can believe whatever it says. After all, it didn't lie about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction. It didn't even lie about the Gulf of Tonkin incident. The attacks by the U.S. government and the subsequent de-platforming by social-media giants have made it impossible for us to carry out our essential work, forcing us to make the difficult decision to shut down African Stream. This video, our heartfelt farewell to you, our esteemed followers, provides a detailed account of the events that have led to the closure of African Stream.

AFRICAN STREAM IS CLOSING DOWN This is, sadly, a farewell to you, our loyal followers and supporters. Under relentless attack, we’ve made the painful decision to shut down African Stream—a platform that many of you’ve come to trust and love. This decision was not made lightly. The smear by then–US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on September 13, 2024, labelling African Stream “Kremlin propagandists”—triggered a wave of censorship. Within days, YouTube, Meta, Google, and TikTok removed our accounts, and we were demonetised on X. These actions shattered our ability to survive financially. Personal accounts were restricted. What followed was a daily uphill battle. Now, we’re left with only one path: closure. We are deeply grateful for your unwavering support. Your comments, your messages, your shares—you made us stronger, sharper, and more determined. We are deeply proud of the work we’ve done since 2022: bringing attention to the most underreported and misrepresented continent. The imperalists want to perpetuate the dominant narrative that Africa is underdeveloped due to corruption and the mismanagement of resources. They want to remove colonialism, neo-colonialism and imperialism from the picture. We refused to play by those rules. For that, we paid the price. But it’s a price we would pay again and again. Refusing to play by their rules led to NBC saying we spread ‘disinformation’ without providing a single example of what ‘disinformation’ we shared. Voice of America condemned us for reporting a fact: since the George W. Bush administration, every US president has authorised drone strikes on Somalia. As we responded to every smear piece, we just grew bigger and stronger until, finally, those in positions of power realised the smears weren’t working, and the rest is history. We will cease posting as of July 1, 2025, except for a few remaining documentaries from Liberia and Mali. With your support, we managed to ruffle many feathers. Please continue the fight and keep the Pan-African flag flying. Thank you for helping us build African Stream. As we always say: #WeAreAllAfricanStream.

While Africans argue about which of the African-resource-evacuation/Lobito-Corridor parties in DC to support in November (because the U.S. is really a militarised 1-party state divided only on issues like pronouns, Algerian Olympic boxers, and fictitious cat-eating Haitians), consider this: US Secretary of State Secretary Antony Blinken yesterday accused African Stream of being part of a global "Russian propaganda network" while announcing new sanctions against RT. African Stream's YouTube channel, on which I was scheduled to begin hosting a new podcast from next month, has since been suspended by Google. It is the latest in a tried-and-tested American habit of giving a dog a bad name in order to hang it. In the 19th century, Dr. Samuel Adolphus Cartwright from Mississippi theorised that Africans escaping from slave plantations must be afflicted with a mental problem because slavery was such an elevation from the natural status of an African that any African seeking to be free must be mentally ill. He called the proposed mental illness "Drapetomania," and he published multiple papers suggesting corrective treatments for "Drapetomania." A century later, during the Cold War, the US State Department and CIA began doing something similar whenever they decided to carry out an assassination or regime change. The CIA accused Patrice Lumimba of being a Soviet-linked Communist, and he was subsequently captured, tortured, murdered and dissolved in sulphuric acid by their Belgian proxies. The same people also accused Kwame Nkrumah of being a Soviet-linked communist, and the 1966 coup in Ghana was the result. Whenever any African leader emerged with a vision for national or regional growth and independence, the immediate accusation that followed was "The Russians are sponsoring him." It is a core tenet of American propaganda that Africa is fundamentally not supposed to have ideas, ideologies, thinkers, voices and leaders of its own - the continent exists for mining cheap resources and sending them to the coasts to be shipped to the Places Where Human Beings Actually Live. Africans, you see, are apparently far too stupid and unevolved, with our behind-the-bell-curve gorilla brains, to actually come up with ideas, voices and plans for our own future that do not coincide with the Western model. So when we do come up with these things, there is only one explanation - the Russians did it. Every single African liberation movement was accused of being Communist Russia's creation because Africans wanting to be free, independent, and economically prosperous must be a symptom of Drapetomania. Even Nelson Mandela, prior to his rebranding as Jesus Morgan Christ Freeman, was also accused of being indoctrinated and sponsored by the Russians. Unfortunately, the Lobito Corridor People are not capable of changing their worldview or adopting new tactics, because here we are in big 2024 and Blinken is here accusing me and the guys in Nairobi of being Russian government cutouts. This tells me 2 very important things: 1.) The work that African Stream and others in the non-western-controlled African media space are doing is having a real effect in cutting through decades of foreign propaganda and raising the independent consciousness of the new generation of internet-savvy young Africans. The US state propaganda machine cannot keep up with social media, and so it is lashing out with petulant stunts like holding a press conference falsely accusing an independent media platform in Nairobi of being "run by RT" WITH ZERO ATTEMPT AT PROVIDING ANY EVIDENCE FOR SUCH A CLAIM. 2.) Washington DC's Lobito Corridor government is planning to go to war in Africa. The first act in war is controlling the narrative. This is an attempt to destroy sources of alternative viewpoints so that Africans can once again go back to having only "America, woo woo!" as our news. When the information war is won, then the shooting war will commence. Dear African, you are under direct attack!

NEW INVESTIGATION: New York Times Bestselling author and journalist Max Lugavere has endured a sustained reputation attack on Wikipedia. In an interview, Max tells NPOV's Ashley Rindsberg how the Wikipedia attack damaged his reputation and turned his life's work—researching ways to prevent the dementia that took his mother's life—into malicious accusations. NPOV's investigation reveals a deeply coordinated network of editors called "the Skeptics" that works on Wikipedia as a coordinated editing group known as Guerrilla Skeptics on Wikipedia (GSOW). + The opening of the Wikipedia entry falsely labels Max an "anti-vegan activist." This now appears prominently on Google searches on Max. + Carefully curated film reviews are used to indirectly accuse Max of attempting to profit from his mother's disease and tragic death. + The key elements of the attack rely on articles written by two members of a center at McGill University known as the Office for Science and Society (OSS). + The main editor on Max's entry adds content from OSS figures, whose own entries on Wikipedia were created and/or currently controlled by GSOW editor Robincantin. + Susan Gerbic, a contributor to Skeptical Inquirer magazine and a fellow of the NGO that owns the magazine, has identified one Robin Cantin as "my editor." + Gerbic is founder of the Guerrilla Skeptics on Wikipedia project. Watch the NPOV video here👇 For the full NPOV investigation, see the link in thread.
