People said he was too slow, he never played against tough competition, and would never make it in the NBA. At the NBA’s rookie camp all the rookies would play together. Bird said it took him just three days at rookie camp to realize not only could he play in this league, he was going to dominate in this league. “That's very similar. What I went through was exactly that.” “It went from: I can be like these guys. To: I'm going to be able to dominate this world.”
