Richard Nixon on what makes a great president: Reflecting on political leadership years after leaving office, Richard Nixon drew a distinction between being a gifted politician and being an effective president. He began by comparing the Kennedy brothers. "Edward Kennedy was the best politician of the three; he is gregarious, loves it, and is warm." John F. Decades ago, when Pierre Trudeau was asked to make an official apology for the internment of Japanese people during World War II, Trudeau said he would not, that "official apologies" are just pandering to interest groups, and that the government "cannot rewrite history." We don't agree with Pierre Trudeau on much, but he was spot-on here. It's hard to imagine a Liberal speaking like this today.

SCOOP: High level White House source just told me that President Trump has no plans to Pardon Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Today, during an Oval Office Press briefing, Kaitlan Collins of CNN asked President Trump if he will be pardoning Maxwell. He said he hadn’t heard the name in a while and that he would talk to the DOJ, but I can confirm he has no plans to pardon Maxwell. I can also confirm he has personally not been asked to pardon Maxwell.

Mike Tomlin’s most underrated moment? I’m not sure if a lot of people remember this but when Mike Tomlin was a rookie head coach he was so obsessed with practice that he nearly doubled the amount of two-a-days that the Steelers usually had. Ed Bouchette even did an entire piece on this at the time. It was also one of the longest training camps the Steelers had. But after the team faded at the end of 2007, Tomlin blamed himself when most head coaches would likely stay the course and force his players to get used the rigorous schedule. For any fans of Steelers history, staying such a course would likely bring to mind Bill Austin. But Tomlin did what Austin didn’t. He changed his practice schedule. Changed how he approached training camp. Changed what he personally focused on during practice. If you recall, he focused an unnatural length of time on special teams during his 2007 practices but, in 2008, he learned to trust his ST coach. He reduced the amount of two-a-days and went from one of the team’s longest training camps in 2007 to one of their shortest in 2008. And the Steelers won the Super Bowl that year. ⬇️ They touched on this in America’s Game.

The person I had sent, I asked did he send you with a counteroffer, he said no.
