The rent in Providence is too high and we need real solutions to bring down costs for families. And I understand why rent control sounds compelling, but the reality is that it has consistently been shown to hurt those it is meant to help. In Cambridge, in Berkeley, in Portland, in St. Paul and more, rents actually went up under rent control and new construction plummeted. My plan provides direct rent relief now and lowers costs long-term through continued new construction. I look forward to working with the City Council to continue addressing the root cause of our housing shortage and bring down costs for all our neighbors.

My contrarian take as a former reporter is that most startups don't *need* to be in a big financial publication like Bloomberg, WSJ - and probably shouldn't be. It may look nice on a pitch deck or get attention on social media for a day - but if it isn't your target audience, it won't provide real traction. As I shared on Apyx's podcast, it's so important to have the proper narrative-market fit. The best teams balance maximum reach with relevant reach and will hunt down distribution where their target users already are. Strategize around targeting the right audiences and the best distribution for that.

San Francisco’s public school students will now have more access to 1:1 tutors. SFUSD is expanding tutoring to reach 2,700 elementary school students, with a focus on improving third-grade literacy. Thank you to SFUSD and SF Ed Fund, for partnering with our Department of Children Youth and their Families and coming together on this tutoring expansion. And thank you to SF Parents for your advocacy in service of student outcomes. My administration will continue working closely with SFUSD to ensure students have the resources they need to succeed. Through our Family Opportunity Agenda, we’re focusing on what helps kids and families thrive—making sure every child has the support they need at key milestones, including in the classroom.

Over 1.5M SMEs have been put on Special Table or Have received Agency Notice from KRA. I have seen hundreds of messages asking how do we go about it. This is my advice: 1. Do not be afraid of KRA Care , it’s managed by people and they listen. 2. Do not be lied to, to bribe anyone or try to cut short cuts. KRA Care is leveraging new tech and Ai so it’s pointless trying to cut short cuts or bribes because that tax must be paid and will be paid. 3. Go to KRA Care and talk to your account manager and agree on a payment plan and go back to running your business. They will agree. 4. Maintain active engagement with your account because it’s through this that you will get the help you need. These are my comments. What’s your take; We should shun corruption and the idea of trying to corrupt government officials.
