Willem Dafoe x THE LIFE AQUATIC (2004) ❤️

The first time I watched The Life Aquatic I was left rather dumbfounded, wondering what in the hell I had just witnessed, but the next day, scenes kept playing through my mind. I watched it again that night, laughed wholeheartedly and it instantly became one of my favorite films.

My favorite Wes Anderson film. Or at least tied with Moonrise Kingdom and Fantastic Mr. Fox

If I was on a deserted island but somehow magically had the ability to only bring a handful of movies, this would be one them.

Great movie. My second Wes Anderson movie after Bottle Rocket.

I love that movie. I watched it Christmas night it’s opening day in a cold retro theater. Had to wear gloves and a coat. 20 years later I can still vividly remember being in that theater with friends and my future wife. I will never understand why critics hated it.
