Aajkal Shauq-e-Deedar Hai… is so much fun. Dilip Kumar’s presence and effervescence just light up the screen. He and Vyjayanthimala were a great pair. Takes you back to a time when the telephone was the conduit of love and romance was different. Rafi is simply outstanding. Naushad’s music is, as always, sublime. Leader had such a lovely soundtrack. Anybody remember any other favourites from the film?

🥟 Recently, I was doing pottery, and there was a STAY right next to me. Usually, when I’m doing pottery with a STAY nearby, I can feel them being so conscious of me! It’s like lightning is striking from over there!! They don’t even look at me directly; they just wear their mask and work so quietly, but it’s honestly kind of cute? This is so powerful bc she was focused on ONE person and ALL of them dropped dead, even the ones who weren’t in her line of sight, but the boys were unharmed. It’s so impressive how particular she was in moments like these.
